Fall and Winter

 Sound! Euphonium S3

This is my anime of the year for 2024.

I love that this main character isn't gifted or overpowered like in other anime, she's just better with the euphonium than the one other person in band class. Until a new character enters this final season and is actually good at it and becomes their rival.

I love that the MC has to practice a skill she doesn't really love. She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be her life.

I loved the coming of age drama this anime had that others don't.
And I loved the ending paths the characters took.

Fuck Asuka though, I wish she didn't come back this season because it cheapens the moment they say bye to her last season. Plus, she was bitchy but the characters treats her like a wise older classmate with the best guidance. She's a cunt who gets away with being rude because she's a goofy upperclassmen.

And the only other nitpick I have for this show is that I'm disappointed the music scenes are boring. In all three seasons! When it should be intense and interesting:

The anime also should've had the concerts, marching band parts and solo pieces cut back and forth between a montage of the character relationships; friends, family and love interests, so that we had something to keep us interested if the music itself couldn't do it.

The clip from The Perfection does just that. I don't give a fuck about that type of music BUT in that moment I was interested. I wish Sound! Euphonium made me feel like that with it's music.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

Max is back with the best power in the series again!

And I loved making her flirt with this sassy man. It doesn't seem like they should be together because they would never sit at the same table and that's why I love this romance. It's a nerdy girl getting with a gay, cunty man ๐Ÿ’…

Max and her new romance partner (you can choose a woman but she was too quirky for me) need to come back in a new game because I want to explore more of their relationship. I want to see them as a couple and how they complement each other or how they clash with each other. Like, how it doesn't work out with Chloe, if she was dating your Max and is still alive.

I loved that they were brave to write a story that Chloe and Max don't stay together forever. I liked that their romance (or friendship) drifts away from each other after some time. The bittersweet feeling that gave me was fun to experience.

So, I would love to have Max's new lover to come back in another game and see if they workout forever or at least workout at staying close friends.

And to be honest, I was disappointed with the friends that Max is left with in this one. It felt like more people cared about her in the first game. It bugged me how easy it was for one of her friends to lose their trust in her. It seemed like the only people that really cared about her was her best friend's mom and the quirky woman you can flirt with.

But this game still had cozy moments that I love in these walking simulators, catty banter with the male love interest that I never would have thought of to pair with a character like Max, and an interesting mystery to keep this game above a 3 out of 5 stars.

Baldur's Gate 3

Playing this helped improve my mood after experiencing Dragon Age: The Veilguard. BG3 is what I wanted DA4 to be; the companions, the relationship bonding, the tone and the voiceless character we play as. This game feels like a love letter to Dragon Age: Origins.

This is the comeback I wanted for my Grey Warden. Thank you, BG3!

Alan Wake 1 DLC

This game should've been in the remaster version. This part of the story is so important that I'm mad so many people are missing out on it and just jumping right into Alan Wake 2!

I loved every moment of this DLC.

Fears To Fathom ep. 5

A creepy game that gives a false sense of coziness. Has a slow burn but with jump scares.

I love this game series! I hope the creator ignores anyone who shits on the slow buildup of each episode.

I love that these episodes are based on true experiences. We get movies and shows that are based on real stories so it's fun to get a game like that too.

HomeBody

A time loop game! It also has a cozy feeling to it.
Every time it resets, the game shows more of the story so don't feel bad about "losing" and going through the loop again.

Smile 2

I love the look of the monster and that the lore isn't spoon fed to us in the movie. It reminds me of the way Stephen King wrote in The Mist, that the monsters look fake; prompts for a movie. It makes the characters feel like what they are experiencing isn't real and that maybe they are crazy or dreaming. I think the uncanny valley feeling it gives off makes the monster creepier than if it was never shown.

The soundtrack, the acting and the story was so fucking good.

If you don't want a movie to rip your heart out for a character then don't watch Smile TWO. Imagine complaining about this movie for having the same theme as the first movie; using the character's trauma against them. What did you expect, you big dummy?

In A Violent Nature

A slasher movie that makes fun of other slashers; calling them boring.

I loved the slowness of it because I was in the mood for a chill movie and didn't know it. I expected this movie to be like a common slasher but with cool deaths because it was being talked about online. And I'm so glad it was different with it's story telling.

It's from the killer's point of view and he only walks. It's basically an ASMR movie when he isn't killing-and all the kills are creative and brutal. That whole time the killer is walking, he's just thinking of unique ways to kill once he reaches someone.

I usually hate slashers but this one thankfully skipped all the stupid teenage dialogue and only let us hear enough to know the killer's backstory and their personalities.

It shits on other slashers with lazy, sexist and recycled writing by skipping all of those things because the killer takes us on a walk with him through the woods to look for weapons and more victims. The characters have their boring banter, arguments and realizations off screen. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I want another movie like this. I don't care if people call it a rip-off. I want rip-offs of this movie! I need to see more slashers that only follow the killer.

Alien: Romulus

I was ready to side with the robot, I wasn't going to let the movie tell me that it was in the wrong so, I'm glad that the movie cared about it's feelings like I did. Yeah. You read that right. Feelings.

Mind Body Spirit

This was a hidden gem! The slow burn made it feel like I was watching a real vlog on Youtube. The movie even added ads that I thought were real for a second.

The movie very creepy. And I loved the acting!

Some people keep complaining that new horror is always needing a theme, that they miss when horror can just be fun bullshit with no hidden meaning. Fuck you if you think like this because there are thousands of fucking fun-bullshit-no-meaning-turn-your-brain-off horror movies out there for ya'll to choose from! You can go back and watch all those 70s, 80s, 90s AND new horror that you can talk over and still know what's going on.

But I can't do the same. I can't go looking for a horror that isn't sexualizing women and have a deeper meaning than "this group runs into a monster/killer".
It's slim pickings for me if I tried looking towards older scary movies for my favorite type of story. But today, I'm getting so much horror with way more thought put into it that has nothing to do with horny characters.

Fuck ya'll for complaining that nowadays your bullshit horror has to share the space with my "bullshit" horror.

A Series of Bleeps

Corey Taylor had a radio show! It's basically a solo podcast! And there's 72 episodes!

Hearing and knowing which songs he loves feels intimate because he'll sometimes talk about why he likes certain songs or a memory linked to them.

I wish I had become a fan of Corey Taylor earlier, from the start even.
I wish I could've helped show support for him, Slipknot and Stone Sour.
I wish I had a chance to have my tweets, comments and posts read by him.

Corey standing up to his "brother" and telling him the new Ghostbusters wasn't about a political agenda made me so fucking happy and I was shocked to hear him argue with someone he loves ON MIC. Because I'm used to men staying silent when their friends say something stupid.

I paused the episode when his friend called that movie political (๐Ÿ™„) because I needed to calm down from the dumb shit I just heard.
I thought Corey would just laugh it off and move on or something.
So, when I pressed play and heard Corey quickly disagree with him my heart fluttered, it was awesome to hear a man I respect stand his ground against bullshit coming from one of their friends.

Corey literally tells that guy to not listen to "any of those fuckin people". It was so hot.

Also Corey hates spaghetti but loves other pasta! He gets it!
____________

But fuck you, Corey for looking down on fanfiction writers just because of the few that you read.

At the end of an episode, you said to fight for our nerdy shit if others are looking down on us so this is me fighting for my nerdy shit.

I understand looking down on those that write about real people but looking down on the writer that wrote fictional characters that got turned into Fifty Shades of Grey? Come on....

That book is porn for women. Everyone acts like it's a romance novel trying to win awards. It's porn! Men get bad dialogue in their porn too but the world doesn't freak the fuck out like it did at women enjoying Fifty Shades.

Women can't get popular horny books or movies without the world acting like it's protecting us or treating us like we have bad taste because only men are allowed to enjoy their shitty and sleazy fantasies on the big screen.

Fuck ya'll for complaining that your bullshit erotic stories has to share the space with our "bullshit" erotic stories.
____________

Anyway, I loved getting to know Corey Taylor a lot more through these episodes. And I did love finding what I agreed and disagreed with him on. I wish more men were as open-minded as Corey.

The Last Night Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert > Philip DeFranco

Stephen is not a coward on showing just how much he hates trump to his viewers. Plus, he's funny. So, drop PhillyD because Stephen is better in every way.

Bad Stuff:

trump and elon cunts-I mean, cult.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was fine if it wasn't the fuckin' fourth game in the series! It feels like a spin off. The war against gods felt cheap; Mass Effect 3's war was way bigger and not just because the war was on different planets, at the same time

Why does ME3 feel more important than magic beings?!
Dragon Age 4 is a disappointment, it should've felt bigger than the Reapers! It should've felt fucking impossible to win against Solas and the the evil gods.

I could've liked the game if it wasn't in the Dragon Age world. NONE of the companions are problematic. None of them need to change into better people, they just need therapy....from our character. Which would've been fine in a different game.

The Warden we play as in DA:O should've been back to play as in this game. DA: The Veilguard was about the lore of why and how the Grey Wardens exist. Well, if you romance Zevran, one of the endings talks about how they both search the world to find a cure for the taint.

I don't know if The Warden tries to find a cure in the other endings too but I like the thought of The Warden coming back as our playable character to face Solas, and the other gods, to save the world on a bigger scale AND learn more about the taint.

If the original voice actor for Zevran can't do it then just have the voice actor of Lucanis do an older Zevran instead of a boring assassin where the only interesting thing about him is the spirit inside him and that he loves coffee....

The game could've worked with a voiceless MC, and still showed off their looks, in DA4; BG3 did it!

Plus, the relationships would've been fun to explore with our Warden being playable as an older character who is close to losing their mind to the taint. Something Solas can use against them like he did with Rook.

If would've been fun to play as our Warden who can still be in a relationship with the character they chose in DA:O or the game lets us choose to romance a new character.

I love imagining a DA4 with Zevran, Morrigan, Leliana, and Alister as our companions again, the four that we could romance in the first game. And of course, having some new characters to romance but the option to still have fun with older versions of past companions would be a dream come true!

I'm pissed it could've happened. This was the perfect game to do that!

Or if you were forced to chose Leliana or Alister and in the end went with Leliana in DA:O, we could've had our MC end it with her to be with Alister this time.
It could've been a very dramatic, painful and beautiful journey that showed that it was good with Leliana for years but now you have started to grow apart and the time doesn't feel right with her anymore.
Having Alister and The Warden seeing each other again and having their feelings resurfaced and being together with the time they have left. Both because of the war and the taint that will kill them.

Or if you chose Zavran before but now feel more connected to Morrigan.
Or if you chose Morrigan before but now feel more connected to a new teammate.
Or if you chose Alister before and want to continue to stay with him.

Or you could have a strong connection with a teammate that becomes your best friend, if you didn't want to romance anymore.
(And I think a best friend "slot" is what's always missing in these games. I hate it when games act like all companions are your best friend, you don't get one, you get all on the same "level". The "level" only makes sense of it's trust. But you can have complete trust of a friend but still have someone else as your best friend.)

DA4 could've had such good drama that didn't need to give every single companion a cheap sob story with their own cheap rivals.

DA4 could've been about how the characters are dealing with being older and the years of good times they missed out on by not staying in-touch with each other.

The new teammates can be younger and have personal quests like Lace Harding and Taash.

It would be a better balance of a story if it had some of it's already well loved companions and well loved MC. With some of the new important companions we actually got; Neve, Lace, and Taash.
Plus, those beloved characters would still seem new because they will be different people than they were in DA:O!

I did love finding out the lore of the gods, Solas and the Elves and the Dwarves because it'll make the world feel bigger knowing the truth when I replay the other games, but everything else in DA: The Veilguard was a bummer.

The Let's Get Haunted podcast is now doing video versions. Ugh! Why can't podcasts stay audio only!? Why do these people keep wanting to make the work harder on themselves?! Staying audio only is easier!

I'm calling it now, they are going to get burnt out and will post less extra content because normal content is a lot more work this year.

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Month of February

Sherlock Holmes Crash Course

Can't wait for the day she admits that it never was "millennial cringe" it's white cringe.

Also, AAVE has been around before you were born!
Zoomers have co-opted AAVE and are calling it theirs.

I love you, Brittany but that part of you will always annoy me.

(This. Context matters.)

So, stop kidding yourselves, it's whiteness that all lot of you are really laughing at.

But a lot of white people are just being themselves when they joke. You all should try being a little creative too:

48:00 Yup. Looking at you, Jessica and Barbara!

DO NOT Learn the History of Valentine's Day

3:56 Exactly. Men aren't sneaky just because some women let it slide. I'm glad women are going online to call them out and encourage other women to do the same.

16:40 Haha! Sounds like a shitty teacher.

You should follow Malissa for perfume recommendations.
And her videos are cozy and she has good tastes in books.

I miss your vlogs, Brittany!

Started My Period in Churchill's War Room

4:57 I agree! Good art makes you still think about it after it ends. Good art makes you want to talk about it with someone.

People who hated Hereditary just because of the ending, are stupid. It's so fun to talk about this movie with other horror nerds and go back to see the clues I missed the first time. That ending made me want to understand it more by looking it up online.

This movie made a grown ass man rage on any movie with cults in it after he seen it. That's how mad Hereditary made him. But he loves slasher movies like the Scream series? Okay, so he just hates good writing? Got it. "How dare a movie trick me and make me feel dread and outsmarted! I like slashers better because I understand everything that's going on! No thinking or paying attention to the backgrounds are needed!"

I really hate when people enjoy the fuck out of a movie until the last few minutes and then act like they hated the whole thing from the start. The journey was either enjoyable or it wasn't, rather or not the ending is satisfying.

I've seen a reaction channel where one of the girls was hiding behind a pillow the whole time until the end and said, "The movie wasn't even scary!" Stop lying to yourselves.

But if it was the other way around and the story was bad but the ending was awesome, (The Curse) then that's when I feel like it was a waste of time. I don't think an awesome ending will ever be strong enough to make a boring journey worth watching.

But a strong build up of a journey will always be worth it no matter how it ends. (Mass Effect 3) Because there's so much to talk about with a good chunk of it!

And I loved Hereditary's ending, by the way. ๐Ÿค˜ And the book of Stephen King's IT.

Again, I think Brittany should check out Malissa! She loves perfume. I don't know anything about perfume, I just follow her for the cozy vlogs. Her voice is very peaceful, she doesn't do ASMR stuff but it feels like it is that type of content!

My songs of the week are all by Electric Callboy:

Spaceman:

We Got the Moves:

Pump It:

Elevator Operator:

Discussing the Lamp Dream

Men not cleaning their ass because it's "gay" is an American thing, right? The dumbest men in the world are in this country.

13:37 Creepypasta!

I like that she makes fun of the choice to use the word, "bore" for "she bore me a child." Because that shit pisses me off when people speak like that online. It's cringy and a dead giveaway that a story is fake because it's trying to sound intelligent. It's so bad.

Let's Get Haunted will read posts on Reddit if it's part of the story and so many fuckers type like that. Ew. (But please connect with Nat and Aly and talk about haunted stuff! Nat said she loves you!)

Plus, they have an episode where they talk about the Hat Man too!

43:10 I want her to breakdown some of the songs I listen to. Because I feel like screaming like that too when I see dumbass Youtubers react to The Heretic Anthem by Slipknot and think he's talking about the devil ๐Ÿ™ƒ:

"I'm a popstar threat and I'm not dead yet
Got a super dread bet with an angel drug head
Like a dead beat winner, I wanna be a sinner
An idolized bang for the industry killer
A hideous man that you don't understand
Throw a suicide party and I'm guaranteed to fucking snap
It's evil sonic, it's pornoholic
Breakdowns, obscenities its all I want to be

If you're 555, then I'm 666

But if you're 555, I'm 666
What's it like to be a heretic?

Everybody's so infatuated
Everybody's so completely sure of what we are
Everybody defamates from miles away
But face to face they haven't got a thing to say
I bleed for this and I bleed for you
Still you look at my face like I'm somebody new
Toy, nobody wants anything I've got
Which is fine because you're made of everything I'm not

If you're 555, then I'm 666

Well if you're 555, I'm 666
What's it like to be a heretic?

Thirty seconds, sixteen, eight, four, lemme tell you why
I haven't the slightest, I'm teaching your brightest
They're listening, clamoring
All the money in the world can't buy me
Go ahead, lie to me
Tell me again how you're tortured
I want to know how you followed your orders so well
You're full of shit
You had a dream, but this ain't it

If you're 555, I'm 666

If you're 555, then I'm 666
What's it like to be a heretic?"

When this is what the song is really about:

And I want her to breakdown some songs by System Of A Down! They have strong things to say:

(I love his breakdowns. Yes, he says some dad jokes in a lot of his videos but just move past that because I love that he talks about the style of the music and the singing as well as breaking down the lyrics.)

I've seen a video of two dumbass guys disapproving of one of System Of A Down's songs from their first album because it was about suicide AND made you want to headbang to it. It was stupid how they treaded that song like it shouldn't exist. As if all heavy messages in art should be boring; "because making it entertaining is disrespectful and fucked up!" Very closed minded.

Art can be entertaining while telling a dark and painful message.

Anyway, I would love for more people, like Brittany, who love pop, hip-hop, country or rap to give metal and rock music a chance. And listen to what they have to share. It's not just "screaming into a microphone" or "satanic music". It's poetry too; just like every other music genre out there.

(Although, I don't understand how other people let out all their anger without screaming in their music. A lot of Slipknot songs are about bullying and abuse: "Is there another way to live? 'Cause it's the only way to die. I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not supposed to be! Come on" Now doesn't that feel so satisfying hearing him yell that anger out? Metal is so good for finding someone to scream out your frustrations with.)

Every genre has bad music, bad apples. But to act like a whole genre is bad just because people want to be lazy and generalize rock music because they heard a song they didn't like or didn't even try to understand, is snobby.

And then there's the fuckers in the metal community that want to add sub-genres in metal and rock.... ๐Ÿ™„ Shut up, stop being picky with what labels go with what band, and just listen and find what vibes with you.

Stop limiting your tastes by what's popular or indie. Or going by what's old or new.
Sometimes trash is popular and sometimes the songs deserve the hype.

Aftershow for The Valleycast - Month of January

A Busted, Gaping New Valleycast

I didn't watch The Substance the normal way, I watched two reaction channels watch it because I hate body horror. I get why people love this movie because of the commentary and theme but I don't like cheesy or campy movies.

But at least I can understand what people are talking about when they bring this movie up. I'm glad I watched it like that vs not watching it at all and missing out on the conversation. (Not this podcast conversation, I mean in general.)

I seen people complain about Alien: Romulus because it's not brave enough to do something completely new like Alien 3 did. I agree but I still think Romulus was better. It was safer but it was never boring. I loved the drama between the main character and her brother.

Alien 3 got boring and stupid real fast. It was only cool to see a dog version of the alien but that's not enough to make me recommend it.

Plus, people were sick of them trying to be "brave" with the Alien movies. Just make it simple with well written characters. A reset from the "we got to think of something big!" mindset.

Watch Blind Wave react to it because their energy made me rethink some of those cheesy moments Steve hated. Instead of those moments being cringe, they were funny. The Blind Wave boys made me wish my husband and I could've watched it with them.

Because after we finished it, we both nitpicked some stuff and then after watching Blindwave, we took back most of our nitpicks. It was fun seeing parts of that movie in a new way. And that's how much I loved it, that I had to go see it again with Blind Wave.

I agree that the android looked weird. But I disagree with Steve that the monster at the end was bad. It was awesome and very creepy!

That movie made me excited for the second game to Alien Isolation.

Elliott's Car GOT SHOT... A LOT

6:09 The smooth 'yes and' is so satisfying and funny.

I hope that family watches this episode.

I would love to see a play like what Elliott experienced but for Alan Wake 1 and 2!

TURNS OUT FIRE IS TERRIFYING

That's how most romance books look and sound in my head. Just cringe dialogue and lazy writing. None of those shitty books should be 5 stars. (I'm joking. Calm down, Barbara.)

26:08 Nice to have this call back throughout the episode. Thank you, Elliott! It's a good little rest stop to laugh.

Them talking about why they would stay somewhere vs moving to live somewhere else like it's so easy. As if the hardest part is the discission. Every location I have lived at, hasn't really been a choice. I'm poor as fuck. I would love to be able to choose where to live based on location or vibe.

39:32 True! Japan should be shamed for that! I always hated the sexualization of girls in anime. I don't know why there hasn't been a big movement about it yet. The anime community ignores it or just shakes their head.

Dog Enters the Chat

Treat your cats like you would your dogs. If bitchy dogs usually come around to liking you but a bitchy cat wont, it's because you're not showing as much patience with it like you did with the dog.

"Maybe it's me." No doubt about that.

Every cat I had, let me pet and carry it around. That's not rare. Are you telling me that I got lucky to get a friendly cat five fucking times in a row? ๐Ÿ™„

People getting unfriendly cats are the rare ones. Cat haters are in an echo chamber.

Both Grace and Bree had asshole dogs. While this is the one asshole cat you got and now you never want another one again? That's like experiencing Grace's or Bree's dog and saying you never want another dog again.

This is spoiled brat and baby brother energy.

Aly, from the Let's Get Haunted podcast, was so excited about that alien egg. She was thinking it was high tech like this:

40:59 Thank you, Joe. Everyone that was smug about the TikTok ban are selfish.

44:26 Nice callback.

I feel your frustration about Steve's bullshit, Joe. TikTok was banned because our country doesn't control it. It had nothing to do with other countries having our data. So much anti-trump videos are hidden now.

Tiktok was more than just silly videos. This is a huge censorship that people like Steve are shrugging at just because they aren't affected.

There's that spoiled brat energy again.

Thank you, Elliott for ending this podcast on a lighter note.

Steve and Elliott GO OFF on Content Creators

Again, I don't feel sorry for Steve about his cat. Just do what Mike Falzone said, sit on it to kill it.

Next topic.

34:21 I love shitting on soulless, pointless and stupid vlogs. I used to love certain cozy content creators until I realized, with each video, that they didn't have talent like I thought they did. I began to notice that they were putting on a persona.

So maybe some realization will hit the viewers of the channel that Steve is talking about. But I guess people love to hate watch. Couldn't be me.

The channels I dropped don't give a shit about putting more thought into their videos because they have so many views from hate watchers or from people who can't tell it's fake trash yet.

Here are some of the cozy channels that I love to have on while I color, eat or journal. You can tell they care about what they share. It shows that they aren't putting on a show for sponsors, they actually love these hobbies:

Malissa

(Her videos wont play on other sites so here's a link to one of her videos.)

Geneva Boyett

HannahLeeDuggan

Roaming Wild Rosie

(I enjoyed keeping up with her hard work on her house. This might seem boring to others but I love watching people work on their cabins or small homes.)

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Month of January

Broski Royal Ballet School Is Now Open

2:14 In a Steve Zaragoza voice: "Edit pooiinnt!"

Her ranting about people buying too much just to make haul videos is how annoyed I get when I watch people buy the whole manga series that they haven't read yet. So much money wasted on something they might not even like! (I know it's not my problem that's why I'm complaining here, in my space, and not on their channel, in their space.)

And they always hide it behind other manga they actually like and forget about those books for months anyways!

It's satisfying when I find a channel that thinks twice about what they buy. That they don't spend money for content. I want a look into someone's realistic cozy moments of their week and sharing their hauls, I don't want them to act like a store, trying to sell me something and coming off fake.

15:49 Fine...but I want to follow you everywhere because I'm a fangirl! The haters ruin everything.

I disagree that the rating system only going up to 5 stars is unfair.
How hard is it to tell the difference between a 2 star and a 3 star? Or a 4 and a 5 star?

Maybe don't easily give out 4 and 5 stars left and right if you want your 2 and 3 stars to matter. I still recommend my 2 star reads because they aren't a 1 star for a reason! I liked something about them.

Your 3.5, 4.2, and 4.9 ratings doesn't mean shit to me.

3.5? That's a 3.

4.2? That's a 4.

4.9? That's a 4!

If it's not a 5, it's a 4! Fuck the point system.

And fuck the 10 star system:

2s, 3s, and 4s are treated the fucking same.

5s and 6s are treated the fucking same.

7s and 8s are treated the fucking same.

9s and 10s are treated the fucking same!

It's perfect with only 5 stars:
1 = hated it
2 = didn't like it
3 = it's alright
4 = really liked it
5 = loved it

I hope Goodreads never changes it's rating system. Use a different site for the bullshit, long rating system. If you want more room to rate a book well that's what the fucking "review" box is for!

Wouldn't shock me if in the future people demanded a 20 star rating system.

"I give this an 17.3 because it's the best thing I've ever read."

"I give this an 11.8 because it's the worst thing I've ever read."

Pointless.

Goodreads should just piss them off even more and switch to a thumbs up or a thumbs down system.

22:50 Exactly. Art isn't always about being relatable. It's about seeing what the artist created and if we understand. Liking the art is a plus. Relating to it is a plus. Art being relatable shouldn't be what makes it good or bad.

(Another reason why rating something is just for fun, for ourselves. Not something that needs to be taken serious and demand that Goodreads have a "better" rating system because only having 5 stars is "unfair.")

I wish the Youtubers who loved Mass Effect would stop letting their fans tell them that Andromeda is shit or that the red ending is the best ending.

Is it hard to form your own opinions before looking around for others? A lot of Youtubers are stuck in their own echo chamber. Stop looking at your comments and looking at what your friends are posting, and just form your own feelings without knowing what the world thinks about it first.

Be shocked after you finish it that most people hated it while you loved it.
Be shocked that most people loved it while you hated it.

Stop thinking there is a right or wrong way to feel about art. Ignore everyone else and focus how art makes you feel.

I like that Brittany will put her foot down and argue with her fanbase.

The fans that complain about Brittany's book and movie takes need to shut up and stop overthinking that her opinion is toxic just because she didn't like a female character.

Go bake yourself a cookie and pat yourself on the back for being able to understand and love every "girlboss" character you come across. But some of those fucking characters are cringy because they're written just to pander to a certain audience. Simple minded white women.

24:33 Yes! This is what Corey Taylor hates about most popular songs. Which he calls plastic music.

He talks about how satisfying it is to write music in a band and how that energy brings them together.

He talks about how satisfying it is to write a song on his own and sharing it with his band to see if they vibe with it too. He says that he has a lot of unreleased songs written in his notes because they're not ready to be public.

Brittany is right that art is for the artist. We just happen to be allowed to experience it too. We should be grateful each time an artist chooses to release stuff because they could choose to make it all private and enjoy their art alone.

She's right that we can tell when something is made just to be a hit and when it's made with real emotion that just happens to become a hit. We can tell. Corey Taylor says the same thing in his third book and on his radio show, A Series of Bleeps.

When Corey was really sick in a hotel room and had the TV on a music channel while he kept having to go throw up in the toilet, he would hear bad songs playing and each shitty song would annoy him more and more, because he was waiting for something good to finally play.

And that's how he came up with the song, Through Glass (understand the lyrics instead of just singing along):

I really want Brittany and Corey Taylor to meet and talk about music, books, movies and history!

(Corey Taylor loves history as much as she does.)

Also, I would love for him to tell her to shut the fuck up about complaining about her age. I agree with him that being 30 years old is nothing to cry about.

Count Orlok Teaches Thermodynamics

3:43 Yup. Fuck the people that tell us to leave if we hate what's happening to our home. Give me the money to leave or shut up.

21:20 I would feel pissed off too! I don't miss Phoenix, I can still perfectly remember how it feels to walk into a hot room. It sucks living there.

32:52 Haha! It's okay, Brittany. I say dumb stuff all the time but you're brave for not editing it out. And I love that he wont make music in English.

41:14 This is why The Broski Report works as a solo podcast. Its funny seeing her argue with herself.

42:21 - 43:36 Funny bit.

47:41 Corey Taylor would love her. I'm telling you all. Help me to get her interested in his music. Maybe not his band, Slipknot but Stone Sour! Or his solo stuff and collabs.

I wish more white people were this honest. That's so funny.

58:08 Yes please. Sorry your fans get easily offended when they find out you have different tastes than them.

Is it that hard for fans to complain to themselves instead of needing their anger to find agreement to create a gossip group?

Stop sharing your complaints under her videos or in her DMs. Or on Reddit.

Make a blog that no one knows about or buy a journal.

(I forgot which episode this was under but it fits here.)

I'd Raher Die Alone

At least I have a Broski Report to watch and an episode of Stephen Cobert. Thank you both for finding ways to make me laugh during this hellish time.

51:17 I'm sorry she had to go through that. That man was so lucky to be with her and he fucked it up because she's funnier than him. I bet he steals her jokes to impresses his friends. He wishes he had her talent.

This is my song of the week because of the heartless men in the country being loud right now:

Aftershow for The Valleycast - Month of December

Fast Food Abroad (and what to do with your dead body)

I hope this girlfriend that Steve is with turns out to be the best one. I really want him to be happy. I hope he falls in love with his new home too.

It reminds me of seeing the pictures of my old home and missing it.

15:32 I'm always surprised that they find it surprising to still have fans who really fucking love them. Please know that we will always be here enjoying your podcasts and videos!

I still agree with Steve that A.I. is here to stay and that we have to adapt. The hope is to adapt while being mindful of not cheating anyone out of their job or credit. I think classes on learning how to code and maintenance tech should be free. So, everyone has the chance to have a job to work along side A.I. vs being replaced by it.

Using A.I. to help translate text while traveling or simplify a medical document are good ways that A.I. can help without taking jobs. I wish it wasn't used for art but wishing it away doesn't do shit. Just have to sadly adapt.

It's ultimately up to rich, powerful people and companies to gain a heart and actually use A.I. for good. These greedy assholes just need to be taken down if they wont fucking change.

Steve Offends Father Christmas with VLUGAR T-SHIRT

The people giving Steve dirty looks are cringe. (And so are some of the comments.)
"The word "sex" can be seen out in public?! Oh no!

Anytime anyone makes fun of astronomy I get happy.

I told my husband that I want to go to a Slipknot concert someday...in Japan. So, we'll see what happens.

I'm so glad I don't live in Phoenix anymore. I do not miss the heat.
I feel so sorry for the boys. I wish it felt more like Christmas for them.

42:57 Thank you for that joke, Joe. You and Elliott turning Steve's rant about his cat into a funny bit is better than how Mike did it. Mike told Steve if he knew that he could just sit on the cat. The callback joke is so much better!

Yes! I miss going out with family to the mall to look at Christmas decorations and then at night-the houses with Christmas lights. ๐Ÿงก

1:01:21 That's the point of falling in love with a villain though! I want to see them be evil and a piece of shit. Otherwise I wouldn't like a villain character in the first place. Not every evil character needs a redemption arc.

I've never seen this show but now I fucking want to knowing that these goodie-goodies didn't like the ending. Can't wait!

Drones, Franz Anton Mesmer, and How Much a Banana Costs

Elliott, please go on Let's Get Haunted and nerd out about the drones with Nat and Aly.

31:26 I'm interested! I tried watching the originals and I just couldn't get into them. But now with so many good horror movies that have come out since then, maybe I'll enjoy the humor this time?

42:17 I would love that! To get to sit next to the boys or Brittany Broski! Make it for everyone, like a giveaway or contest prize.

Ugh! I ended up pausing this episode until I seen Smile 2 because Steve just has to talk about a spoiler... And now that I've seen it, fuck the person who spoiled it for Steve.
I bet it was Kevin.

Happy Endings, SourceFed, and The Rizzler! Special LIVE Valleycast!

2:37 Steve is a one man show and his live streams are a gift ever since I stopped watching Dynamic Banter because I got sick of Mike being the fun police.

6:36 Hype train!

11:52 Another hype train!

37:20 I remember the day Becadago finally got into Steve's group of friends that all started as fans and Beca fucked it up by being annoying and spamming invite requests to join back into the Fortnite game. They were just not ready to tap out and wanted more time playing with Steve but all they had to do was wait for another day. Most likely off stream because they were Fortnite friends with him and can see the next time Steve would be online.

They just fucked up thinking their bratty spams were funny.
Also, Beca ruined the magic of them always winning trivial games because they admitted that they googled answers real fast when playing.

They would only show up to streams if the Valleyfolk were streaming Jackbox. They would always get in. And they would always win trivia type games. So, learning that they just googled all their answers when in the past they were asked by Joe, if they were smart or just googling and they said in chat that they knew random crap...it feels weird to suddenly let them join the group.

I think that's why Steve told them that they can join the game again next time after Steve's other friends came online. Because usually Steve will let his friends stay in the lobby to just talk even with the player slots being full, since people in the lobby can see the gameplay. But he said "later" to Beca. He wanted to slowly become friends with them.

Beca hardly talked in chat so there was no reason to think they were lying to Joe. It wasn't a big deal because the boys (and Lee) loved singing Beca's username into a song. The streams were chill. But it turned into a big deal when they revealed that they did google AND they're annoying as fuck.

So, the only impressive thing about them is that they type fast.

It wouldn't surprise me if Becadago were annoying to other streamers.

What a fucking let down Beca turn out to be. Just an immature brat who cheated at trivia.

51:58 Thank you, Steve.

I hate that I don't get to see the rest of this stream because he wont post it public since it might pull away the views on the channel if they can just see it on Twitch. I wish he would just cut the first hour of the stream out and post the rest for us to see.

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Month of December

George Orwell & Dragons

9:13 Hahaha! Her "valley girl" bit will always be funny.

I respect that she can love a book and be impressed by how someone shits on it to where she wants to read the book that person thinks is better.

Obviously it depends on how they word it and if someone is in the right mood to get other takes. But when you're open to seeing other sides to media you love, it intensifies your feelings for it, to understand why someone seen something in a different way when they tried to like it.

Her talking about how she has certain authors she reads after certain books: I read Stephen King after reading a shitty romance book. I just need to read a well written book after wasting my time with trash demanding to be taken serious.

I have given a low rating to some of Stephen King's books but not because it was badly written. With romance novels, 100% my low rating is because of the bad writing, not because of the scenarios. Be toxic, problematic, and unrealistic as fuck but write it good.

So, if I find a good romance book it feels like finding a rare trading card.

Auditioning For The Live-Action Shark Tale

2:35 Funny rant.

6:19 It's okay, Brittany. I like weird fictional men too. I'm attracted to the TV man, Vox:

And his moth man friend, Valentino from Hazbin Hotel:

I still can't wait for her to find Corey Taylor's music and finds a mask she likes to see him in. I like them all but that fucking clear one and the first mask looked like shit too, lets be honest. The revamped version of that first mask is so much better. And the red glowing eyes are awesome:

Slipknot also were anonymous for a bit in 1999 to the 2000s. Fans said when this music video came out they were excited to try and get glimpses of their faces. That shit sounds so fun! I hate that I missed it:

(Come on, how can Brittany not find this interesting?! Please see this someday.)

Plus, he hates cheap music. She would love his first and third books where he talks about that.

51:18 I think Steve Zaragoza needs to see this so he can be chill with this actor already.

I hope the friend that leaked her private video and the friends that used her text message for content are so jealous ๐Ÿ’…

Become friends with Holly:

And Sachie:

They both have cute Youtube channels and are really active on Instagram. They seem like awesome, chill and nice people. Plus, they both love your content! (I can see that they like a lot of your Instagram videos.)

Fuck yeah, Brittany! You're real, you're kind, you're funny and your favorite celebrities see that! As you lose the bad friends, you're deepening your connection with the good ones and gaining better friends who see the drama you're connected to, they will know where your heart is.

When you can see how talented someone is with their humor but their fanbase sucks ass, it's hard being a fan. But now, with the proof that he sucks WITH his fans, that means we need to see someone's fanbase as a red flag IF the Youtuber isn't trying to call out the fans in any way

That's tricky because Rooster Teeth wouldn't stop their fans from being shitty in the comments either but RT has turned out to be really good people who started to crack down on the toxic part of their community. They explained that they didn't do it sooner because they lived by the rule, "Don't feed the trolls." But that doesn't work when the trolls are taking control of the community.

So, maybe other Youtubers are still living by that "don't-feed-the-trolls" rule or maybe they are secretly a piece of shit who quietly agrees with their fanbase.

I don't think it's that easy to know when someone is a bigot or just using dark humor.

If I wasn't a fan of RT, I would most likely think that all the hosts of Achievement Hunter were bigots with how edgy their jokes used to be. I might see some clips out of context and think, "ew no."

For me, those jokes really did come off as jokes, and they were. It was like watching South Park, a show I love a lot. Old and current episodes. I love dark and fucked up humor. And that doesn't make me evil.

Just like people who love dark and smutty romances are not evil.
Just like people who have a favorite villain are not evil.

Comedy, books-any art is an escape. I don't need to relate to every single piece of art that I like but if you do need to in order to enjoy it then you will not understand me. Go try to find a movie, book, song or videogame that you really enjoy but cannot relate to at all. Then you'll get it.

But RT joking like that a lot is lazy now and they have matured and joke differently. It was so easy for them to wake up and change their behavior once they seen that people's feelings where getting hurt. They wanted to change the vibe and did!

People aren't perfect and of course fans don't have to forgive them, everyone knows where the unfollow button is. Use it or don't. But don't harass people who are still fans of a channel when no proof has been shown that the Youtbers are pieces of shit.

And when proof does appear, you can scream or sing that it was obvious all you want but it wasn't.

Tell me the difference between Rooster Teeth's dark humor and Theo Von's dark humor.
RT turned out to be anti-trump while Theo Von turned out to be pro-trump.

Don't lie and say that it's always easy to clock someone as a bigot because both of those channels had red flags.

Red flags = suspicions
Red flags aren't proof.

"Well then, don't be fans of people with a red flag." Everyone has a red flag. Name anyone with a following and I'll find their toxic trait. Your friends and family have them. You and I have them.

God's Brother: Santa Claus

24:06 - 25:26 I don't know how people don't find her funny.

28:02 Ha! Have her on Dynamic Banter right now! Those boys make fun of that song every year now but make really funny bits out of it.

33:16 I hope she finds a funny hot, male celebrity who will love her and treat her right. ๐Ÿฉท

Broski Report Wrapped: 2024

Flashback episode!

I hope you had a fun or relaxing Christmas, Brittany.

Aftershow for The Valleycast - Month of November

The Election 2024 Predictions NOBODY ASED FOR

I'll miss you, Elliott! But I hope you have fun!

12:16 Hahaha yup. Fuck therapists when you could talk to ChatGPT for free.

I had a cold for two days and on the third day, I was feeling a bit better and that's when I found out trump won. And then I felt sick again.

I'm interested in what Corey Taylor thinks. If he still is hopeful like he is in his fourth book, America 51, or if he has a more grim outlook now. I hope he's making a fifth book and that he shits on trump even harder in it.

(2016. He's not active online anymore.)

Also, I think Corey and his wife are really sweet so I'll be happy to see him mention her a lot in his new books.

Just A Couple of BETAs Talking About TRUMP

I'm glad Elliott made it into this weeks episode before he travels!

12:57 I hate how simple minded people are to vote like that.
Can't wait to laugh at trump supporters who will suffer with us.

20:40 Yup.

Joe lagging a lot is very funny.

36:00 Dumbass mega guy finds out that he doesn't matter to them. Steve is correct to assume those fuckers are all bigots. Wake up, Elliott and Joe. Stop assuming everyone has some good in them. This is why we're here right now because you want to hear these trump followers out when their side never want to hear us out.

We need to fight back just as hard as they do. Stop trying to kill them with kindness. I'm so fucking happy that Steve is calling them racists because that's what they fucking are.

Do not try and be friends with those people. Let them be lonely in their group. Wasn't the whole fucking point of them joining maga was to not feel alone anymore? So, why should you be friends with them if they now have each other? Keep them out of your life and continue having fun without them!

37:16 Create more Republicans! Thank you for making me laugh. ๐Ÿงก

Joe answers all YOUR questions!

Thank you, Joe! I love that you care to not skip a week! I wish I was fast enough to send in a question. I seen your Instagram story too late.

I love the Christmas background.

4:10 Cute bit.

I don't know where I would haunt. Maybe a gamer who has the same tastes as me so I can enjoy the game through their playthrough. Someone who loves horror and story heavy games.

I miss snowy winter too. I haven't been able to make a snowman again. The last time was 2016. The snow has always been thin since then.

At least it's always pretty when the ground is covered in white, thin or not.

I love solo podcast episodes.

55:59 ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ˜Ž

2 Men vs Chappell Roan

4:56 I love you, Elliott. I hope to be able to see one of your shows someday!

I love safe spaces. I don't find it hard to know that I'm in a happy bubble and that most of the world is sad, evil and ugly.

I hope Steve learns how to use safe spaces and navigate the rest of world.

Safe spaces are here to let us breath and gather our strength for going back out to see more of the world and trying to find more friends and groups to make those safe spaces bigger every time we visit.

38:44 Come on, Steve.
Trisha doesn't like dogs yet you're friends with her.
Bree doesn't like time travel or the show, Lost, yet you're still friends with her.
You dated and lived with a woman who hated your E.T. yet you were with her for years.
You can be chill with someone who doesn't like puppets.
All that isn't the same as being friends with someone who loves trump.
maga = bigots

Hating dogs, time travel, E.T. and puppets doesn't make someone a bigot. When people say it's okay to be friends with different opinions, they are talking about with people who aren't bigots.

As a joke, this topic is funny because I do think about how if someone doesn't love anime and videogames then why would I become friends with them? But in seriousness, that's a weird thing to not become friends with someone for if they are nice or funny.

I disagree with you, Steve. You can try to fix the racist people by planting seeds into them to open their minds but I'm not going to play teacher or a punching bag for those heartless people.

(Look at this dumb fuck. Hard pass on trying to be friends with that maga thing.)

Link
(I fucking agree with her.)

But good luck to you, Steve.

Also, I don't give a fuck about puppets either. Not because I think their creepy I just think they're boring. Like, sports, Marvel and DC shit, and wrestling. ZZZzzz...

The only time any of those topics are interesting is when you boys make fun jokes out of them. Those are the only way to make me care about those things.

#NotEverythingIsForEveryone
