Fall and Winter

 Sound! Euphonium S3

This is my anime of the year for 2024.

I love that this main character isn't gifted or overpowered like in other anime, she's just better with the euphonium than the one other person in band class. Until a new character enters this final season and is actually good at it and becomes their rival.

I love that the MC has to practice a skill she doesn't really love. She enjoys it but doesn't want it to be her life.

I loved the coming of age drama this anime had that others don't.
And I loved the ending paths the characters took.

Fuck Asuka though, I wish she didn't come back this season because it cheapens the moment they say bye to her last season. Plus, she was bitchy but the characters treats her like a wise older classmate with the best guidance. She's a cunt who gets away with being rude because she's a goofy upperclassmen.

And the only other nitpick I have for this show is that I'm disappointed the music scenes are boring. In all three seasons! When it should be intense and interesting:

The anime also should've had the concerts, marching band parts and solo pieces cut back and forth between a montage of the character relationships; friends, family and love interests, so that we had something to keep us interested if the music itself couldn't do it.

The clip from The Perfection does just that. I don't give a fuck about that type of music BUT in that moment I was interested. I wish Sound! Euphonium made me feel like that with it's music.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure

Max is back with the best power in the series again!

And I loved making her flirt with this sassy man. It doesn't seem like they should be together because they would never sit at the same table and that's why I love this romance. It's a nerdy girl getting with a gay, cunty man 💅

Max and her new romance partner (you can choose a woman but she was too quirky for me) need to come back in a new game because I want to explore more of their relationship. I want to see them as a couple and how they complement each other or how they clash with each other. Like, how it doesn't work out with Chloe, if she was dating your Max and is still alive.

I loved that they were brave to write a story that Chloe and Max don't stay together forever. I liked that their romance (or friendship) drifts away from each other after some time. The bittersweet feeling that gave me was fun to experience.

So, I would love to have Max's new lover to come back in another game and see if they workout forever or at least workout at staying close friends.

And to be honest, I was disappointed with the friends that Max is left with in this one. It felt like more people cared about her in the first game. It bugged me how easy it was for one of her friends to lose their trust in her. It seemed like the only people that really cared about her was her best friend's mom and the quirky woman you can flirt with.

But this game still had cozy moments that I love in these walking simulators, catty banter with the male love interest that I never would have thought of to pair with a character like Max, and an interesting mystery to keep this game above a 3 out of 5 stars.

Baldur's Gate 3

Playing this helped improve my mood after experiencing Dragon Age: The Veilguard. BG3 is what I wanted DA4 to be; the companions, the relationship bonding, the tone and the voiceless character we play as. This game feels like a love letter to Dragon Age: Origins.

This is the comeback I wanted for my Grey Warden. Thank you, BG3!

Alan Wake 1 DLC

This game should've been in the remaster version. This part of the story is so important that I'm mad so many people are missing out on it and just jumping right into Alan Wake 2!

I loved every moment of this DLC.

Fears To Fathom ep. 5

A creepy game that gives a false sense of coziness. Has a slow burn but with jump scares.

I love this game series! I hope the creator ignores anyone who shits on the slow buildup of each episode.

I love that these episodes are based on true experiences. We get movies and shows that are based on real stories so it's fun to get a game like that too.

HomeBody

A time loop game! It also has a cozy feeling to it.
Every time it resets, the game shows more of the story so don't feel bad about "losing" and going through the loop again.

Smile 2

I love the look of the monster and that the lore isn't spoon fed to us in the movie. It reminds me of the way Stephen King wrote in The Mist, that the monsters look fake; prompts for a movie. It makes the characters feel like what they are experiencing isn't real and that maybe they are crazy or dreaming. I think the uncanny valley feeling it gives off makes the monster creepier than if it was never shown.

The soundtrack, the acting and the story was so fucking good.

If you don't want a movie to rip your heart out for a character then don't watch Smile TWO. Imagine complaining about this movie for having the same theme as the first movie; using the character's trauma against them. What did you expect, you big dummy?

In A Violent Nature

A slasher movie that makes fun of other slashers; calling them boring.

I loved the slowness of it because I was in the mood for a chill movie and didn't know it. I expected this movie to be like a common slasher but with cool deaths because it was being talked about online. And I'm so glad it was different with it's story telling.

It's from the killer's point of view and he only walks. It's basically an ASMR movie when he isn't killing-and all the kills are creative and brutal. That whole time the killer is walking, he's just thinking of unique ways to kill once he reaches someone.

I usually hate slashers but this one thankfully skipped all the stupid teenage dialogue and only let us hear enough to know the killer's backstory and their personalities.

It shits on other slashers with lazy, sexist and recycled writing by skipping all of those things because the killer takes us on a walk with him through the woods to look for weapons and more victims. The characters have their boring banter, arguments and realizations off screen. 👏👏👏

I want another movie like this. I don't care if people call it a rip-off. I want rip-offs of this movie! I need to see more slashers that only follow the killer.

Alien: Romulus

I was ready to side with the robot, I wasn't going to let the movie tell me that it was in the wrong so, I'm glad that the movie cared about it's feelings like I did. Yeah. You read that right. Feelings.

Mind Body Spirit

This was a hidden gem! The slow burn made it feel like I was watching a real vlog on Youtube. The movie even added ads that I thought were real for a second.

The movie very creepy. And I loved the acting!

Some people keep complaining that new horror is always needing a theme, that they miss when horror can just be fun bullshit with no hidden meaning. Fuck you if you think like this because there are thousands of fucking fun-bullshit-no-meaning-turn-your-brain-off horror movies out there for ya'll to choose from! You can go back and watch all those 70s, 80s, 90s AND new horror that you can talk over and still know what's going on.

But I can't do the same. I can't go looking for a horror that isn't sexualizing women and have a deeper meaning than "this group runs into a monster/killer".
It's slim pickings for me if I tried looking towards older scary movies for my favorite type of story. But today, I'm getting so much horror with way more thought put into it that has nothing to do with horny characters.

Fuck ya'll for complaining that nowadays your bullshit horror has to share the space with my "bullshit" horror.

A Series of Bleeps

Corey Taylor had a radio show! It's basically a solo podcast! And there's 72 episodes!

Hearing and knowing which songs he loves feels intimate because he'll sometimes talk about why he likes certain songs or a memory linked to them.

I wish I had become a fan of Corey Taylor earlier, from the start even.
I wish I could've helped show support for him, Slipknot and Stone Sour.
I wish I had a chance to have my tweets, comments and posts read by him.

Corey standing up to his "brother" and telling him the new Ghostbusters wasn't about a political agenda made me so fucking happy and I was shocked to hear him argue with someone he loves ON MIC. Because I'm used to men staying silent when their friends say something stupid.

I paused the episode when his friend called that movie political (🙄) because I needed to calm down from the dumb shit I just heard.
I thought Corey would just laugh it off and move on or something.
So, when I pressed play and heard Corey quickly disagree with him my heart fluttered, it was awesome to hear a man I respect stand his ground against bullshit coming from one of their friends.

Corey literally tells that guy to not listen to "any of those fuckin people". It was so hot.

Also Corey hates spaghetti but loves other pasta! He gets it!
____________

But fuck you, Corey for looking down on fanfiction writers just because of the few that you read.

At the end of an episode, you said to fight for our nerdy shit if others are looking down on us so this is me fighting for my nerdy shit.

I understand looking down on those that write about real people but looking down on the writer that wrote fictional characters that got turned into Fifty Shades of Grey? Come on....

That book is porn for women. Everyone acts like it's a romance novel trying to win awards. It's porn! Men get bad dialogue in their porn too but the world doesn't freak the fuck out like it did at women enjoying Fifty Shades.

Women can't get popular horny books or movies without the world acting like it's protecting us or treating us like we have bad taste because only men are allowed to enjoy their shitty and sleazy fantasies on the big screen.

Fuck ya'll for complaining that your bullshit erotic stories has to share the space with our "bullshit" erotic stories.
____________

Anyway, I loved getting to know Corey Taylor a lot more through these episodes. And I did love finding what I agreed and disagreed with him on. I wish more men were as open-minded as Corey.

The Last Night Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert > Philip DeFranco

Stephen is not a coward on showing just how much he hates trump to his viewers. Plus, he's funny. So, drop PhillyD because Stephen is better in every way.

Bad Stuff:

trump and elon cunts-I mean, cult.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was fine if it wasn't the fuckin' fourth game in the series! It feels like a spin off. The war against gods felt cheap; Mass Effect 3's war was way bigger and not just because the war was on different planets, at the same time

Why does ME3 feel more important than magic beings?!
Dragon Age 4 is a disappointment, it should've felt bigger than the Reapers! It should've felt fucking impossible to win against Solas and the the evil gods.

I could've liked the game if it wasn't in the Dragon Age world. NONE of the companions are problematic. None of them need to change into better people, they just need therapy....from our character. Which would've been fine in a different game.

The Warden we play as in DA:O should've been back to play as in this game. DA: The Veilguard was about the lore of why and how the Grey Wardens exist. Well, if you romance Zevran, one of the endings talks about how they both search the world to find a cure for the taint.

I don't know if The Warden tries to find a cure in the other endings too but I like the thought of The Warden coming back as our playable character to face Solas, and the other gods, to save the world on a bigger scale AND learn more about the taint.

If the original voice actor for Zevran can't do it then just have the voice actor of Lucanis do an older Zevran instead of a boring assassin where the only interesting thing about him is the spirit inside him and that he loves coffee....

The game could've worked with a voiceless MC, and still showed off their looks, in DA4; BG3 did it!

Plus, the relationships would've been fun to explore with our Warden being playable as an older character who is close to losing their mind to the taint. Something Solas can use against them like he did with Rook.

If would've been fun to play as our Warden who can still be in a relationship with the character they chose in DA:O or the game lets us choose to romance a new character.

I love imagining a DA4 with Zevran, Morrigan, Leliana, and Alister as our companions again, the four that we could romance in the first game. And of course, having some new characters to romance but the option to still have fun with older versions of past companions would be a dream come true!

I'm pissed it could've happened. This was the perfect game to do that!

Or if you were forced to chose Leliana or Alister and in the end went with Leliana in DA:O, we could've had our MC end it with her to be with Alister this time.
It could've been a very dramatic, painful and beautiful journey that showed that it was good with Leliana for years but now you have started to grow apart and the time doesn't feel right with her anymore.
Having Alister and The Warden seeing each other again and having their feelings resurfaced and being together with the time they have left. Both because of the war and the taint that will kill them.

Or if you chose Zavran before but now feel more connected to Morrigan.
Or if you chose Morrigan before but now feel more connected to a new teammate.
Or if you chose Alister before and want to continue to stay with him.

Or you could have a strong connection with a teammate that becomes your best friend, if you didn't want to romance anymore.
(And I think a best friend "slot" is what's always missing in these games. I hate it when games act like all companions are your best friend, you don't get one, you get all on the same "level". The "level" only makes sense of it's trust. But you can have complete trust of a friend but still have someone else as your best friend.)

DA4 could've had such good drama that didn't need to give every single companion a cheap sob story with their own cheap rivals.

DA4 could've been about how the characters are dealing with being older and the years of good times they missed out on by not staying in-touch with each other.

The new teammates can be younger and have personal quests like Lace Harding and Taash.

It would be a better balance of a story if it had some of it's already well loved companions and well loved MC. With some of the new important companions we actually got; Neve, Lace, and Taash.
Plus, those beloved characters would still seem new because they will be different people than they were in DA:O!

I did love finding out the lore of the gods, Solas and the Elves and the Dwarves because it'll make the world feel bigger knowing the truth when I replay the other games, but everything else in DA: The Veilguard was a bummer.

The Let's Get Haunted podcast is now doing video versions. Ugh! Why can't podcasts stay audio only!? Why do these people keep wanting to make the work harder on themselves?! Staying audio only is easier!

I'm calling it now, they are going to get burnt out and will post less extra content because normal content is a lot more work this year.

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Month of January

Broski Royal Ballet School Is Now Open

2:14 In a Steve Zaragoza voice: "Edit pooiinnt!"

Her ranting about people buying too much just to make haul videos is how annoyed I get when I watch people buy the whole manga series that they haven't read yet. So much money wasted on something they might not even like! (I know it's not my problem that's why I'm complaining here, in my space, and not on their channel, in their space.)

And they always hide it behind other manga they actually like and forget about those books for months anyways!

It's satisfying when I find a channel that thinks twice about what they buy. That they don't spend money for content. I want a look into someone's realistic cozy moments of their week and sharing their hauls, I don't want them to act like a store, trying to sell me something and coming off fake.

15:49 Fine...but I want to follow you everywhere because I'm a fangirl! The haters ruin everything.

I disagree that the rating system only going up to 5 stars is unfair.
How hard is it to tell the difference between a 2 star and a 3 star? Or a 4 and a 5 star?

Maybe don't easily give out 4 and 5 stars left and right if you want your 2 and 3 stars to matter. I still recommend my 2 star reads because they aren't a 1 star for a reason! I liked something about them.

Your 3.5, 4.2, and 4.9 ratings doesn't mean shit to me.

3.5? That's a 3.

4.2? That's a 4.

4.9? That's a 4!

If it's not a 5, it's a 4! Fuck the point system.

And fuck the 10 star system:

2s, 3s, and 4s are treated the fucking same.

5s and 6s are treated the fucking same.

7s and 8s are treated the fucking same.

9s and 10s are treated the fucking same!

It's perfect with only 5 stars:
1 = hated it
2 = didn't like it
3 = it's alright
4 = really liked it
5 = loved it

I hope Goodreads never changes it's rating system. Use a different site for the bullshit, long rating system. If you want more room to rate a book well that's what the fucking "review" box is for!

Wouldn't shock me if in the future people demanded a 20 star rating system.

"I give this an 17.3 because it's the best thing I've ever read."

"I give this an 11.8 because it's the worst thing I've ever read."

Pointless.

Goodreads should just piss them off even more and switch to a thumbs up or a thumbs down system.

22:50 Exactly. Art isn't always about being relatable. It's about seeing what the artist created and if we understand. Liking the art is a plus. Relating to it is a plus. Art being relatable shouldn't be what makes it good or bad.

(Another reason why rating something is just for fun, for ourselves. Not something that needs to be taken serious and demand that Goodreads have a "better" rating system because only having 5 stars is "unfair.")

I wish the Youtubers who loved Mass Effect would stop letting their fans tell them that Andromeda is shit or that the red ending is the best ending.

Is it hard to form your own opinions before looking around for others? A lot of Youtubers are stuck in their own echo chamber. Stop looking at your comments and looking at what your friends are posting, and just form your own feelings without knowing what the world thinks about it first.

Be shocked after you finish it that most people hated it while you loved it.
Be shocked that most people loved it while you hated it.

Stop thinking there is a right or wrong way to feel about art. Ignore everyone else and focus how art makes you feel.

I like that Brittany will put her foot down and argue with her fanbase.

The fans that complain about Brittany's book and movie takes need to shut up and stop overthinking that her opinion is toxic just because she didn't like a female character.

Go bake yourself a cookie and pat yourself on the back for being able to understand and love every "girlboss" character you come across. But some of those fucking characters are cringy because they're written just to pander to a certain audience. Simple minded white women.

24:33 Yes! This is what Corey Taylor hates about most popular songs. Which he calls plastic music.

He talks about how satisfying it is to write music in a band and how that energy brings them together.

He talks about how satisfying it is to write a song on his own and sharing it with his band to see if they vibe with it too. He says that he has a lot of unreleased songs written in his notes because they're not ready to be public.

Brittany is right that art is for the artist. We just happen to be allowed to experience it too. We should be grateful each time an artist chooses to release stuff because they could choose to make it all private and enjoy their art alone.

She's right that we can tell when something is made just to be a hit and when it's made with real emotion that just happens to become a hit. We can tell. Corey Taylor says the same thing in his third book and on his radio show, A Series of Bleeps.

When Corey was really sick in a hotel room and had the TV on a music channel while he kept having to go throw up in the toilet, he would hear bad songs playing and each shitty song would annoy him more and more, because he was waiting for something good to finally play.

And that's how he came up with the song, Through Glass (understand the lyrics instead of just singing along):

I really want Brittany and Corey Taylor to meet and talk about music, books, movies and history!

(Corey Taylor loves history as much as she does.)

Also, I would love for him to tell her to shut the fuck up about complaining about her age. I agree with him that being 30 years old is nothing to cry about.

Count Orlok Teaches Thermodynamics

3:43 Yup. Fuck the people that tell us to leave if we hate what's happening to our home. Give me the money to leave or shut up.

21:20 I would feel pissed off too! I don't miss Phoenix, I can still perfectly remember how it feels to walk into a hot room. It sucks living there.

32:52 Haha! It's okay, Brittany. I say dumb stuff all the time but you're brave for not editing it out. And I love that he wont make music in English.

41:14 This is why The Broski Report works as a solo podcast. Its funny seeing her argue with herself.

42:21 - 43:36 Funny bit.

47:41 Corey Taylor would love her. I'm telling you all. Help me to get her interested in his music. Maybe not his band, Slipknot but Stone Sour! Or his solo stuff and collabs.

I wish more white people were this honest. That's so funny.

58:08 Yes please. Sorry your fans get easily offended when they find out you have different tastes than them.

Is it that hard for fans to complain to themselves instead of needing their anger to find agreement to create a gossip group?

Stop sharing your complaints under her videos or in her DMs. Or on Reddit.

Make a blog that no one knows about or buy a journal.

(I forgot which episode this was under but it fits here.)

I'd Raher Die Alone

At least I have a Broski Report to watch and an episode of Stephen Cobert. Thank you both for finding ways to make me laugh during this hellish time.

51:17 I'm sorry she had to go through that. That man was so lucky to be with her and he fucked it up because she's funnier than him. I bet he steals her jokes to impresses his friends. He wishes he had her talent.

This is my song of the week because of the heartless men in the country being loud right now:

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Month of December

George Orwell & Dragons

9:13 Hahaha! Her "valley girl" bit will always be funny.

I respect that she can love a book and be impressed by how someone shits on it to where she wants to read the book that person thinks is better.

Obviously it depends on how they word it and if someone is in the right mood to get other takes. But when you're open to seeing other sides to media you love, it intensifies your feelings for it, to understand why someone seen something in a different way when they tried to like it.

Her talking about how she has certain authors she reads after certain books: I read Stephen King after reading a shitty romance book. I just need to read a well written book after wasting my time with trash demanding to be taken serious.

I have given a low rating to some of Stephen King's books but not because it was badly written. With romance novels, 100% my low rating is because of the bad writing, not because of the scenarios. Be toxic, problematic, and unrealistic as fuck but write it good.

So, if I find a good romance book it feels like finding a rare trading card.

Auditioning For The Live-Action Shark Tale

2:35 Funny rant.

6:19 It's okay, Brittany. I like weird fictional men too. I'm attracted to the TV man, Vox:

And his moth man friend, Valentino from Hazbin Hotel:

I still can't wait for her to find Corey Taylor's music and finds a mask she likes to see him in. I like them all but that fucking clear one and the first mask looked like shit too, lets be honest. The revamped version of that first mask is so much better. And the red glowing eyes are awesome:

Slipknot also were anonymous for a bit in 1999 to the 2000s. Fans said when this music video came out they were excited to try and get glimpses of their faces. That shit sounds so fun! I hate that I missed it:

(Come on, how can Brittany not find this interesting?! Please see this someday.)

Plus, he hates cheap music. She would love his first and third books where he talks about that.

51:18 I think Steve Zaragoza needs to see this so he can be chill with this actor already.

I hope the friend that leaked her private video and the friends that used her text message for content are so jealous 💅

Become friends with Holly:

And Sachie:

They both have cute Youtube channels and are really active on Instagram. They seem like awesome, chill and nice people. Plus, they both love your content! (I can see that they like a lot of your Instagram videos.)

Fuck yeah, Brittany! You're real, you're kind, you're funny and your favorite celebrities see that! As you lose the bad friends, you're deepening your connection with the good ones and gaining better friends who see the drama you're connected to, they will know where your heart is.

When you can see how talented someone is with their humor but their fanbase sucks ass, it's hard being a fan. But now, with the proof that he sucks WITH his fans, that means we need to see someone's fanbase as a red flag IF the Youtuber isn't trying to call out the fans in any way

That's tricky because Rooster Teeth wouldn't stop their fans from being shitty in the comments either but RT has turned out to be really good people who started to crack down on the toxic part of their community. They explained that they didn't do it sooner because they lived by the rule, "Don't feed the trolls." But that doesn't work when the trolls are taking control of the community.

So, maybe other Youtubers are still living by that "don't-feed-the-trolls" rule or maybe they are secretly a piece of shit who quietly agrees with their fanbase.

I don't think it's that easy to know when someone is a bigot or just using dark humor.

If I wasn't a fan of RT, I would most likely think that all the hosts of Achievement Hunter were bigots with how edgy their jokes used to be. I might see some clips out of context and think, "ew no."

For me, those jokes really did come off as jokes, and they were. It was like watching South Park, a show I love a lot. Old and current episodes. I love dark and fucked up humor. And that doesn't make me evil.

Just like people who love dark and smutty romances are not evil.
Just like people who have a favorite villain are not evil.

Comedy, books-any art is an escape. I don't need to relate to every single piece of art that I like but if you do need to in order to enjoy it then you will not understand me. Go try to find a movie, book, song or videogame that you really enjoy but cannot relate to at all. Then you'll get it.

But RT joking like that a lot is lazy now and they have matured and joke differently. It was so easy for them to wake up and change their behavior once they seen that people's feelings where getting hurt. They wanted to change the vibe and did!

People aren't perfect and of course fans don't have to forgive them, everyone knows where the unfollow button is. Use it or don't. But don't harass people who are still fans of a channel when no proof has been shown that the Youtbers are pieces of shit.

And when proof does appear, you can scream or sing that it was obvious all you want but it wasn't.

Tell me the difference between Rooster Teeth's dark humor and Theo Von's dark humor.
RT turned out to be anti-trump while Theo Von turned out to be pro-trump.

Don't lie and say that it's always easy to clock someone as a bigot because both of those channels had red flags.

Red flags = suspicions
Red flags aren't proof.

"Well then, don't be fans of people with a red flag." Everyone has a red flag. Name anyone with a following and I'll find their toxic trait. Your friends and family have them. You and I have them.

God's Brother: Santa Claus

24:06 - 25:26 I don't know how people don't find her funny.

28:02 Ha! Have her on Dynamic Banter right now! Those boys make fun of that song every year now but make really funny bits out of it.

33:16 I hope she finds a funny hot, male celebrity who will love her and treat her right. 🩷

Broski Report Wrapped: 2024

Flashback episode!

I hope you had a fun or relaxing Christmas, Brittany.

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Month of September

I'm Building Jurassic Park

Funny bit.

2:57 I love that she informs audio only listeners. Other podcasts with video versions should take notes.

4:59 Another connection to The EZU! Let's go!

I hate my hair and skin, I wonder if there's something I need to be taking that other people don't need to worry about. I just don't have the money to go see a doctor so I'll just guess.

Maybe I'll try that protein powder for my coffee too. I don't drink pop or eat fast food and I don't use the microwave and rarely get meat (because it's too much money). I know there are a lot of other unhealthy foods I could be eating but at least I know it's none of those big ones.

19:37 She could easily become one of Steve Zaragoza's closest friends.

I tried to get into making clay charms in the past and it really is hard. My first mistake was watching Youtubers who were professionals at it because they made it look easy. I'm sorry to my husband that I wasted our money on a hobby that only last three weeks.

I think my next hobby will be book binding and I'm taking my time with it because I want to make sure I want to buy all the tools for that. I'm looking at so many videos of beginners and pros. Just to see the different ways they do it.

I want to book bind so many Stephen King paperbacks with boring covers and I want to book bind fanfiction. I found two stories that I love and I'm very fucking picky with fanfics. These two are so good, they should be official side stories to the series they're from.

Her freaking out over that big flower but still looking at it is fucking funny.

I had a bad day with some fake cozy girl that tried to act like she wasn't rude. Because her whole channel vibe is being a manic pixie dream girl, she will get away with pretending to never getting upset when her viewers read our comment thread. But I took screenshots just in case she edits her comments so hopefully people can see her true colors.

I think this lady bothered me so much because she's actually trying to gaslight me when other times when I call people out on being rude they admit it. They don't always say sorry and continue to be rude but they at least admit it. So, this is a first. Fuck you, fuck your friends and fuck your fans if they read the comments and still refuse to see your bitchy tone.

When I want to be rude online I instead save it for my blog or my videos. I'm way too fucking nice and I need to stop. I wont though because there's always a chance of calming a conversation down when I call them out. Sometimes it works. Today it didn't.

But luckily I have this episode and it really helped make my stress go away. Writing it out really helps too. Thank you, Brittany.

I Don't Want To Be A Firefighter

She is so yandere, I love it. Let's spy on our crushes! Feels freeing to joke like this with a comedy podcast but I hate the little voice that is telling me people are clipping those parts to justify their hate for her. Joking isn't aloud from people they hate.

I wish I can just enjoy her content without thinking about what the others think too. Maybe it starts by not typing it out. I'll try that. This is the last time I'll blog about the haters because if Brittany doesn't mention them then I shouldn't either.

4:05 Exactly! People need to be all "what about me?" with everything nowadays. They can't let others have an opinion without trying to change it. Unless you ask for other view points but you didn't. #NotEverythingIsForEveryone

9:56 I really hope I get to meet you someday. I love this whole topic.

That firefighter TikTok video was funny as fuck.

Watching someone build Legos can be fun if it's Steve Zaragoza:

Love Island & Michelangelo

The silent coyote hand sign reminds me of Corey Taylor doing the BabyMetal hand sign. It's like a cute version of the bull 🤘

I can never be into reality TV. Sorry, Brittany but not even you can convince me that it's interesting. I used to watch dating shows when I was a teen in Phoenix but that was because I didn't have home internet and it was too late to play outside. Nothing could make me watch those shows now.

BUT I will have fun hearing you talk about it, Brittany. I really enjoyed hearing you explain to the men how it feels to be disrespected and what we want to do but know that we shouldn't

I loved Corey Taylor talking about how he takes care of his stuff. He's not careless just because he's rich now. I thought of that when Brittany started talking about being online too much that it's a fake connection vs living offline and having our own likes and hobbies.

Stop caring if what we love is trendy or not. Just love it. Not everything needs to be content for the world. It's okay to love stuff in private.

That made me think of Corey Taylor because he talked about enjoying physical things vs just sticking to your tablet. Don't always let the internet tell you want is the hottest book or song right now. Go find a book or CD that no one is talking about. It might become your new favorite thing.

I'm glad Brittany is aware and trying to change; trying to not be online as much anymore. I've been good at that because I play videogames and read books so those hobbies keep me offline for fucking hours. Plus, I started working out this month and it's going good so far.

Brittany and other podcasts are my link to keep up with what's popular online. If they don't talk about it then I'm out of the loop and I love it. If anyone is reading this and have a problem with staying off their phone but is going to try to change after hearing Brittany trying, I wish you the best of luck!

Because it does feel so free to not know what memes people are talking about and them having to explain it to me. It's so peaceful living under a rock a little and having so much time in a day for myself.

(This is how non gamers view our hobby. Even though any hobby can be seen as "a waste of time"):

(Also, I'm in the loop on important stuff like politics but just not with gossip, trends or viral videos.)

46:43 YES. I don't understand why some fans only want Brittany to talk about drama. Just be grateful she's doing this podcast at all. Please. Her sharing what's inside her brain for an hour is awesome vs only getting TikTok videos once a week.

The Roman Colosseum & Chappell Roan

1:39 HAHAHA

10:58 Perfect.

When she talks about being a fan of Harry Styles (I never heard his music or maybe I have but I'm too lazy to look it up.) I get what she's saying about becoming a new superfan vs an old superfan.

I really wish I had been into Slipknot as a kid so that I can grow up with them and see their friendship change throughout the years. I've learned about all that happened to them but I wish I learned about it while it was happening.

It really is different being there vs just seeing the past in videos and articles. No matter how much I learn about their story, I still feel like I missed out. Even though every fan learns about them on screens but I would've loved watching the screen at the same moments with everyone, you know?

Plus, I'm sad I missed out being a fan while he was active online:

13:16 Yes! I love fangirl episodes.

Also, yes, there is a different level of being a fan of something I loved since I was a kid and being a fan of something I discovered this year. And it is hard to explain and compare them. It's unfair too, in a way. I'm thinking about Korn and Slipknot.

I knew of Slipknot but I only listened to three of their songs when I was a kid. But with Korn, I LOVED EVERY SONG, EVERY ALBUM. It was the only band where I didn't skip a song. I let the whole thing play out on my CD player.

Nothing ever topped Korn for me until this year. I don't know why I didn't give Slipknot a chance or why their sound and lyrics are hitting me different now than they did when I was younger. But I'm obsessed with their songs and with their lead singer.

And THAT is why it's different from Korn. I don't care about getting to know the singer in Korn. I LOVE his voice but that's all I need. With Slipknot, I need more Corey Taylor content. Maybe it was the mask? Finding out that someone behind the scary mask has a kind heart but not in a pushover/fake way. That has made him very interesting to me.)

I'm going to link another blog post I made of me explaining how Slipknot crashed into my life but it's bittersweet because the person who helped me see how great Slipknot is, turned out to not be a cool person.... Here's the link if you're interested.

22:08 Bam! Right there! I love that she is aware of this and I knew she was but it feels awesome to hear her say it out loud. She knows to tone herself down to new people.

Fuck, I really know Corey Taylor would LOVE to be interviewed by her. It sucks knowing that it'll never happen if she's not a fan of him. Please, whoever is reading this, tell her to listen to his Stone Sour music and if she can't stand how heavy Slipknot's music is, at least read the lyrics of those songs.

Have a picture of him wearing a one of his Slipknot masks, up on screen, as you listen to a Stone Sour song, if that helps you check him out, Brittany. I know you'll love his personality.

(It now says, "6 others liked your comment" See?! I'm not the only fan that wants you to meet him.)

33:20 Exactly! Corey Taylor said he has an idea for a book to be about just that but he's not sure yet. I hope he writes it soon. In his fourth book he really gets into the politics he agrees and disagrees with. It came out after Trump. (He hates Trump by the way. Thank god.) I disagreed with him on something, and on another thing he actually made me think and I ended up agreeing with him after sitting with it for days.

It helps that he wasn't born rich. Being poor is something you never forget. It's fucking trauma. The world leaves you behind and ignores you. ("Who still buys these?" "Who still wears these?" "After a month it's okay to spoil the videogame." "After a week it's okay to spoil the movie.")

Connecting with Corey on him growing up poor is surprisingly important to me.

So, it's really easy to become a fan of his and stay a fan when I find stuff I disagree with him on because there is always something to disagree on with ANYONE. Your partner. Your close friends. Your family.

It's okay to disagree and still love them because you have faith that their heart is in the right place. That, at their core, they are willing to keep learning and growing.

EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. EVERYONE HAS RED FLAGS. So, it's really about avoiding heartless assholes. People who WANT to hurt others and WANT others rights taken away. But if they aren't like that, it's okay to respectfully disagree. Please get that through your heads. Stop making every red flag into something it's not.

44:27 Yup. Corey Taylor says too, in his book, "Fuck the fascists." So, when he talks about "both sides" he doesn't mean bigots. But everyone now only sees shit in black and white.

I'm sick of talking about this. I feel like I talk about this a lot here in so many different ways but it's the same topic! I'm done explaining my mindset. Just listen to Brittany or Corey Taylor explain it (in his America 51, audiobook).

Spring and Summer

 New tablet

I can now read ebooks! I use the library app, Hoopla and it's awesome to be able to save money on so many books because I don't have a library close to my home. I had a shitty prepaid phone and now with this tablet, I feel like I'm apart of the world again. To see all the apps I've been missing out on.

And I get to listen to audio books which I didn't know "audio dramas" were made for some books. It's awesome hearing every character have a different voice actor vs one person reading the whole book themselves. I love hearing music and sound effects and background chatter while the characters talk or narrate.

That would be perfect for Stephen King's IT. That monster reveal and battle would only look good as it does in my head if it stays in my head. That book would be amazing as an audio drama.

(Here's my Goodreads because I'm too lazy to list all the books I loved over spring and summer.)

Plus, thanks to my tablet, it feels nice to finally have a good camera to use for pictures and videos.

Rappers & Vocal teachers react to 90s-2000s rock

I listened to these songs so many times, since I was little, without fully knowing the meaning. I only liked them for the sound and beat. Now I'm falling in love with these bands all over again after learning the message of the lyrics. Because I only cared about the sound and not the writing, I feel like it's fate that I'm moved by rock music. Soft and heavy songs.

Became a bigger Slipknot fan because of reaction channels. Makes me upset that I missed out on so many of their live shows. I've never cared about concerts before because I was satisfied with the studio versions but now I get it. Concerts are a great way to get to know the band and see the energy they put into their music as they play together.

Movie & tv show reactors watch Hazbin Hotel

On my Hazbin Hotel rewatch I got to really know how good the songs are. I liked them the first time I heard them but I didn't realize just how special they were compared to other musicals until it was pointed out by reactors. The songs info dump (in a good way) vs other musicals waste time trying to have a catchy song just get people to sing along.

Hazbin Hotel makes sure every word makes sense in their songs. The "yeahs" in Poison are to represent him having sex vs the "yeahs" in other pop songs. Love it! And if someone isn't into any musical styled songs, the show makes sure the song is too important to skip. So, people are getting lore and character background out of listening to a 2 minute song. Instead of angerly waiting for it to end.

Plus, most songs are more like rap battles which anyone can find interesting.
Hazbin Hotel > Helluva Boss

I'm so happy it's popular in Japan because I'm hoping it shows Japanese companies to make more anime shows that brake away from the school and teenage setting. And I'm sick of anime never using profanity or different sexuality or different cultures in their stories. And characters having sex is so rare unless it's a ecchi or eroge.

Japanese people are sick of it too with how much they love Hazbin Hotel. This show is giving them something they want. Something different. Something where the villains aren't redeemable but still have a fanbase. (Valentino and Adam)

The Boys S4

The sex scenes are actually fun to watch, they are the only ones I don't mute or skip because they are so fucking funny and weird. The Boys makes fun of sex by having sex.
The ones complaining about people like me, who hate sex scenes, say that we hate art... I guess I hate art then! Ha. Wild that everything is black and white for some people.

Anyway, I really love the new black female character, she was instantly interesting and likeable.

Scum's Wish

I loved what this show ALMOST did. I want another story like this but actually explains that the characters are discovering what an open relationship is. I get the main characters not labeling it because they're teens and this is new to them both.

But the adult characters shouldn't be calling it "cheating" when they are fine with them sleeping around. That's an open relationship. Cheating is a secret. A lie. But the show makes it known and the character says they accept that life style if they can stay by their side.

Some people need to feel free but still have something to come home to and others are good with just focusing on one person. Some people don't like sharing, while others don't mind it. And I wish the anime showed it in that light; different and new, instead of twisted and wrong.

I wish it showed examples of when characters cheat vs when they have multiple partners and communicate that.

I only seen the anime so who knows, maybe the manga does evolve and go into all that. So, I'll be reading it soon to find out for myself.

Corey Taylor

After finding out about him from reaction channels, (I knew Slipknot but I never looked up the names, or faces, of the band members) I went down the rabbit hole of his writing and personality. I don't get celebrity crushes often but I have one now. I bought all his books after listening to the audio version and then I read them to highlight and leave notes in. I loved that it was like he had a solo podcast.

I can't wait for his next book and to get it day one!

I wonder if he would ever write a whole fiction novel. I loved his comic, it reminded me of Alan Wake. And I loved the little comedy story at the end of his first book.

I love his passion for music and how he understands the pros and cons of new tech:

Carolyn Petit is streaming again

I love her sense of humor:

Best fanfictions I have found

I want to create physical copies of these just in case they get deleted for whatever reason. I'm looking into bookbinding.

V.2: Apotheosis is a Cyberpunk 2077 fanfic about female V choosing to let Jonny have her body and live a life again while she stays in the digital world. Delamain goes to find her and brings her back into the physical world by making her a body.

V is not out of character (yay!) and Delamain was written well as an A.I. character. I left a comment on the last chapter saying that this story is so good, I can see it being DLC for players who choose that ending.

I loved that this story makes Delamain a close friend of V's because that was the only phone call we were missing at the end of the game. I wish the game treated his friendship just as important as the other characters that V helps out.

The Lookalike is a Hazbin Hotel fanfic about an original character who looks like Alastor but doesn't act like them. They are in hell for a reason so this character isn't a good person. They aren't an asshole but they aren't like almost every other OC that is a fucking goodie-goodie. This OC can actually think for themselves. It's refreshing to read.

In the first chapter they are shocked to be in hell and have a bit of a break down but after that chapter, they are awesome. They fuck Vox and Alastor, alone and then together.

I left a comment after finishing this story too.

Open Roads

Reminds me of my mom and I; what it's like trying to connect with each other. I like that the game doesn't make them come off as best friends. They stay mother and daughter and the frustrating limit that holds them back from becoming friends.

Emily is Away 2 and 3

It was nice feeling like a teenager again. Playing these games back to back (and then Open Roads). It was a nice week of reflecting on my childhood.

Alone in the Dark 2024

It feels like an old horror mystery game with cheesy dialogue and awkward character movements in cutscenes. I loved it! It felt like a game I've played before as a kid.

I don't know if the cheesiness and unusual ways the characters react were on purpose but it was awesome because it seemed like it was making fun of how older horror games used to be. It made the game feel dated!

A fun game to reply with the filter on!

The Stanley Parable

Reminds me of Doki Doki Literature Club because the videogame characters feel like they're talking to the player. Feels like the characters have self-awareness. I love it.

Maxxxine

I liked the ending and this character's journey. She knows what she wants and nothing will stop her but she's also very likeable. She's not heartless. She cares for others who could become good friends to her. I recommend watching Pearl first then X. That's how I watched them and it was perfect because I had no idea what was going to happen in Pearl but you will if you watch X first.

(Also, Pearl is a different character from X and Maxxxine but it's the same actress. So, I'm not talking about her, I'm talking about Maxine not being heartless.)

Late Night with the Devil

A very unique movie that I've seen in a while. I loved how they told the story. I loved the ending. They didn't lose me with the information dump. They had me the whole time.

I Saw the TV Glow

Another unique one but I didn't like some of it. It got a little boring in moments but I still recommend it. (3 out of 5 stars!)

Humane

I usually don't like comedy in horror movies but this one needed it. It wouldn't have worked if it was serious throughout the whole story. The comedy helped us not totally hate certain characters and be open to enjoying them. It helped it make sense when the characters stopped to hear each other out. When realistically, there is no getting onto someone's good side again once people do what some of these characters do.

Longlegs

The main character has the personality as one of the main characters in Nope, the main character in The Queen's Gambit and the main character of Mr. Robot. I loved it. I want to see more autistic main characters. They're awkward and shy but they aren't dorky nor quirky.

Anime tries to do characters like that but they're not realistic like they are in Longlegs, Nope, The Queen's Gambit and Mr. Robot. (Please do better, anime!)

These character types aren't stupid. "Boring," I'll give you when you compare them with other characters around them but calling them stupid is a shitty take

Bad stuff:

A take made by the Youtuber, StuffCelineDoes:

Yes, autistic characters CAN be stupid, sure but not because of how they are. Saying "quite stupid and incompetent" is obvious what you were getting at; you expected her to be the normal, confident, professional agent vs the awkward and quiet agent. Adding "quite" and "incompetent" is extreme IF that wasn't what you were getting at. Just, "I found our main character stupid for an FBI agent" wouldn't hit me as hard because it's just a vague sentence, it's barley a red flag.

But the fact that "stupid" wasn't enough for you and then "quite stupid" STILL wasn't enough, you had to add in "incompetent."

She was still brave and did her job. So, tell me what is "quite stupid and incompetent" about her because no one else is saying that when they complain about the movie.

I seen your other red flags in the comments you've sent me but when I add those with this one...that was enough for me to know that you need to stay in the world of Harry Potter, and other YA and middle grade books. Those stories bleed stereotypes and cliches for you to feel comfortable in.

(She has been open to loving those books. I'm not just adding those in to throw words at her. She actually reads them.)

I've never seen someone have a fucking huge library in their home and still be closed minded to different logic in each fictional story. She goes into fiction with a real world mindset. She may be the biggest reader with the simplest mind that I have come across.

And the Youtuber, teddygreyonstuff is a piece of work too but for a different and more serious reason. I made a whole post about him. Here's the link.

He insults the new singer in Linkin Park which doesn't always mean sexist, it's okay to criticize her because everyone has different tastes. BUT combine that with everything in the link, he is sexist.

He says her screams aren't that good if she can't hold the scream live like she does in the studio version. I'm sick of women needing to be 10 times better than men in order to get the same level of respect. The old singer couldn't hold the scream live as he did in the studio version either. But he gets a pass for breaking up the yell? Fuck off, both singers are impressive.

I think this means I should stay way from people with the word "stuff" in their username. (I'm joking but isn't that a funny coincidence?)

The cozy channel girl isn't too bad if you don't talk to her in the comments and have a disagreement about something. She's annoying in those moments but not an openly problematic person like teddy is. Feel free to enjoy her videos if you already do. She made it personal with me and tried to act like she didn't after I called her out on it but that shouldn't effect anyone else from enjoying her channel. I'm sharing this because this is my blog space. My digital diary to look back on.

I talked to ChatGPT about it (LOL) vs talking to people who might just agree with her if they also hated the ending to Stephen King's IT or just agree with me if they didn't hate it. And it's not the disagreement on the book I had an issue with, it was her turning the conversation into an attack when I thought we were having fun sharing why we were effected by the ending differently.

And most people wouldn't be able to ignore the topic of the book when I ask if she was rude or if I was overreacting.

While A.I. has no opinion on book endings. Unless it's programed to and I doubt the creators of ChatGPT give a fuck about making it favor certain books.

(I copy and pasted our comments since I couldn't send screenshots. It says it was removed but luckily the A.I. was still able to see it, even though I can't):

I asked if I should've been more clear or was she just not understanding my point:

BUT teddy doesn't deserve his following because a lot of his subscribers have no idea who he really is. I found out he's sexist from his content behind the paywall. It wasn't ONE thing he said, it wasn't ONE sentence he posted; click the link above for screenshots and video clips.

Helluva Boss sucks. Bad songs. Annoying voices that I can't believe are written to sing.... And the writing is trash. I made a post comparing it to Hazbin Hotel. Here's the link.
