I just finished seeing it and I liked it a lot. I thought the DIY part of it was creepy and original because that made the enemy make mistakes. The beginning made them feel like they were experienced.
It was so good.

Seeing so many vloggers in the wild makes me miss the early 2000s. I like when vloggers do voice over so they are silent while filming in public. But seeing them talk to the camera in public is cringy. 

I really hate when they feel the need to vlog themselves singing in the car. No matter how much I like a vlogger, I always mute it if they sing in a car.

I don't know, Joe. I think maybe your teenage kid is just good at acting like she's not interested in sex and boys. Or maybe she's just a nerd who actually doesn't care and her friends are the same. So, you think that today's teens aren't as horny as we were but might just be your kids' friend groups. 

Watch the show, Never Have I Ever. It does a good job of balancing how teens care about connecting online and connecting in person. And its good at showing how much sex is on a teen girls' mind. I was in high school in 2004-2008 but the main character's thoughts were very relatable.

This was me until I started wearing makeup at 17 (late but still happy I had a taste of it) and then I started dating, flirting with boys by texting and going to parties. I think teens who don't feel pretty, know how to hide their interest in sex better...?
But even when I was just being a nerd, I read/looked at porn. I just didn't say anything about my feelings with anyone else until I felt pretty at 17.

And I would love to see one of the female companions not look like a supermodel in the third game. Just make her seem like a matured version from the first two games! 

And make the characters from the second game wear different outfits in the third game!
I love Mass Effect with all my heart but I'm not blinded to the problems and plot holes it has.

Knowing Things Ruins Everything

I actually want to read that book. It's a refreshing way to study the Bible. I have faith but I don't trust the Bible being God's words because come on. It's man made. But I still read it and try to understand it with skepticism but I'm frustrated that I can't share my true thoughts with my mom. 
She would freak out if I told her that and I don't care to get into that drama if I don't fucking have to.

I love my husband. I can be open about it and we agree that God knows my heart and intentions and that is no one else's business. Others don't have to understand how or why I believe in God while questioning things about them.

I'm happy Anna Lore is in a popular movie so she's going to make more stuff but I don't like any of the Final Destination movies. They are for people who love the Scream movies or slashers--even though Final Destination isn't a slasher, it gives off that style. 

They are fun-turn-your-brain-off movies and I don't like those type of movies. It's rare when I do. 
I do like fun-turn-your-brain-off videogames though! Games are where I can enjoy a cheap, cheesy, campy script.

Trying to Brain the Upcoming Live-Action Legend of Zelda Film!

3:30 Yeah, I hate that it means nothing to you but at least now I don't have to feel bad skipping them. I started doing that as soon as you and Mike got a Patreon. And it was perfect timing because that's when the ad reads started to become boring.
And the fans told you it was but you and Mike responded saying that if we really love your podcast then we should be okay with you two reading the ads more normal so you two can get paid. 

And we said sure then don't mind us skipping the boring ads. Change up the podcast however you want but don't expect fans to stick to a routine if they don't like a change. 

I think the podcast that does the best ad reads is Let's Get Haunted! They give all the info while being funny and weird. DB used to be #1 with ad reads, now it's LGH:

Their funny personal stories being told in the ads makes them better at selling the product. And they don't need a sound machine to be funny 💅

Nat and Aly also love when fans make merch of their podcast to sell on their own. They see it as free advertisement and exposure for their podcast and they encourage fans to do more of it.
They share posts online shops of LGH merch by fans. 

And they really love when fans don't skip their ads and say it means a lot to them. Their community feels more worth being in because Nat and Aly show how much they love their fans. 

They don't keep saying shit like:
"Use our code or your emails of love mean nothing to me!" 
"The fans that don't join Patreon are cheap--haha just kidding!" 
"First time show was fun but no one listened! It made no money!"

Steve and Mike are like:

LGH make their Patreon worth paying for because they give a lot of extra content (from the start, by the way) and insider gossip AND they are active in the group chat. It's worth $10 a month!

I'm never paying for a streaming service again. Get a library card and use kanopy (or library apps and DVDs). Or search for links online. Fuck streaming services now.

Link not talking in the movie could work, it's just up to the writers to not be lazy about it. Like in the movie, No One Will Save You. I think they did a good job with no dialogue. Just make Link actually a mute who needs to use sign language or write down this longer responses. Like a character in The Stand by Stephen King. I loved that character and the story made him fit right in. 

But also, it is the videogames' fault for continuing to not give Link a voice actor. He talks in the comics and old animations. And he talks in the games because the characters respond to him as if he is talking back to them. So, Link isn't actually a mute, the videogames are just too lazy and cheap to hire a voice actor and a writer for his dialogue. 

Give Link a voice in the next game, you cowards. And make Link's soul reincarnate into a woman's body!

Always Open and The Patch were the only podcasts that stayed interesting because they had a theme.

Always Open was about sex and The Patch was about videogames. The other podcasts were just labeled as "comedy" or "shooting the shit" ZZZzzz...
(If you say your show is comedy and all you do is "shoot the shit" you better be fuckin' funny to back up that lazy description.)

Really? Steve's girlfriend doesn't know about Chat GPT? 

I used it as therapy but only for setting a goal to get on a path to make me feel better. Because I can't afford a therapist. "Oh, we can do payments." Fuck you. I'm saying I can't afford payments either. Therapy shouldn't be so fuckin' much and should be more than an hour of a session. 

Also, Chat GPT can help any time, any day and way over an hour. Or less than 10 minutes.

Therapy should be free and available 24/7. (maybe two therapist per person? I don't know but that needs to happen or A.I. will win for poor people. Every time.)

The two times I've used it were when I had a pain in my chest that was deep but not sharp and I had just experienced somewhat of a life change BUT I wanted to make sure I wasn't sick. I didn't want to just write it off as stress. 

I explained how my chest hurt and gave it my age and other stuff doctors would ask. I didn't tell it my life story or whatever. I didn't want it to grab on that it was just stress. But after marking off things it could be, (after telling me to go see a doctor to make sure) it asked me if anything big happened lately that could've made me nervous or excited without me giving it a clue that it could be stress. 

That's when it was talking me though my feelings on this big change and made suggestions on what I could do to lighten my heart. 

(And all that time would've cost me around $500 or $600. Some of the bill coming from going to the doctor just for them to tell me it's stress. And some of the bill being the one session of therapy. And some going towards gas driving to these places. Fuck off with that! I'm using free A.I.)

The second time I used it was when I came back to that same chat to ask if me not eating much is connected to stress and when I should start to be worried about not feeling hungry. It said being in shock can make my body not take too much energy and that's why I feel full. But I should sit down and try to eat a meal after day 6. And if I couldn't then to see a doctor. 

And luckily, on day 5, I started eating normal meals. 

I didn't have a conversation with it that second time. So, I guess I mainly used it as a doctor instead of a therapist but using it like that SAVED me money. I feel better with the reassurance from Chat GPT that I was just going through stress. 

Instead of me NOT using Chat GPT and just living my days in worry with what is wrong with me and hoping it's just stress. That might have made my stress last longer than 5 days and actually make me physically sick for not eating much over a week. 

Chat GPT as a doctor/therapist is fine if you were going to live with your fingers crossed anyway. At least you get some sort of help than no help.

(It's annoying when Steve complained about Smile 2, on stream, being too depressing and said people only liked it because it's popular and people don't think for themselves. You can be such a brat, Steve--still love you though.) 

Just stick to Star Wars, DC and Marvel if you want the good guys to always win. 

I love being a SourceFed fan who never turned into a friend after years of supporting them because I have the freedom to citizens them. To rant about opinions I disagree with, which I wouldn't be able to do if I was in the friend group. I would just have to write it in my journal.

I marathoned Severance in two days (I'm typing this on June 29th) and rewatched it slower. I love that show. I agree, it feels like being apart of history. I really hope this show is only 4 seasons long.

But Breaking Bad is 5 seasons and Better Call Saul is 6 seasons; both of those shows are amazing from start to finish. So, Severance staying amazing for 5 seasons can happen but it'll be so stressful getting there with our fingers crossed.

I love when they talk about their childhood or early adult years. Joe and Steve are only 5-6 years older than me so I relate to a lot of what they talk about. (The 80s bled into the 90s, and 90s into early 2000s.) 

In Japan they had cigarette machines too, when I was there in 2007! I seen a group of kids in school uniforms just buying from those machines....so the honor system is kinda bullshit there hahaha

I enjoyed the type of drama the movie had and it told us from the start that it was supernatural with her being half psychic.

Nicolas Cage didn't carry that movie, it's just the thing everyone mainly talks about because they couldn't tell it was him at first. (Or like me, at all.)
If the character was the same but another GOOD actor did it, a lot of people would still like that movie.

17:11 I hope you do, Elliott! I've been working out an hour a day. I used to not do weekends but ever since I've made up my mind to visit Phoenix this summer, I've been working out all the days of the week. I want a summer body! 

I've been working out for a while because I do want abs and to be hot for my husband but going on a trip where I'll be seeing my friends did motivate me to work out a little more.

I've been listening to audiobooks when I workout or when I'm cleaning the house. I like reading more but I think some books are more fun as audiobooks because you don't really know when it ends. You can't see the last page. The last line. That can be really fun if you're listening to horror or suspense. 

And sometimes the voice really helps bring the characters alive. 

But--no, Elliott! I'm sad you didn't finish Fairy Tale! ...But also...I think you wouldn't have liked the last part so I'm just glad you got to enjoy the first half because it's perfect for you; a dog lover.

Listen to books while working out so you have another reason to keep exercising; finding out what happens next in the book! 

Also, reading on a tablet is good if you can't find good lighting for a physical book. Because I do like physical books more but sometimes I just want to read in bed, in the dark or low lighting.

I think four seasons of Severance is perfect. It's not too long.
We can learn all about the cult company and have both Marks become one in season three.
The last season can be about taking the cult down and having the other severed characters become one. 

I can see Helena softening and agreeing to it. I love how she seems to be obsessed with Mark, outside of just making sure he keeps going to work. She didn't need to fuck him or find him in a restaurant.  

I think she was truthful when she told him she didn't like who she was. I think she's jealous of Helly for finding love. Helena is lonely. 

So, I think four seasons is perfect to wrap up the whole story without it feeling rushed.

People who complain about movies needing their full attention is why we have stupid shit happening, like Netflix telling writers to make characters explain what they are doing so people can know what's going on without looking at the screen. 

Cheap shit being made because people like Kevin (this movie was brought up before--and I guess Steve forgot--Kevin complained about it not letting him be on his phone...) are saying that movies that demand your attention is a point against watching it. 

I'm glad Kevin doesn't go on the podcast anymore. Him being a casual (and a hater) on most stuff is frustrating. I love how Steve, Elliott and Joe are nerdy about something! A Busted, Gaping New Valleycast

I didn't watch The Substance the normal way, I watched two reaction channels watch it because I hate body horror. I get why people love this movie because of the commentary and theme but I don't like cheesy or campy movies.  

But at least I can understand what people are talking about when they bring this movie up. I'm glad I watched it like that vs not watching it at all and missing out on the conversation. (Not this podcast conversation, I mean in general.)

I seen people complain about Alien: Romulus because it's not brave enough to do something completely new like Alien 3 did. I agree but I still think Romulus was better. It was safer but it was never boring. I loved the drama between the main character and her brother. 

Alien 3 got boring and stupid real fast. It was only cool to see a dog version of the alien but that's not enough to make me recommend it.

Plus, people were sick of them trying to be "brave" with the Alien movies. Just make it simple with well written characters. A reset from the "we got to think of something big!" mindset.


Watch Blind Wave react to it because their energy made me rethink some of those cheesy moments Steve hated. Instead of those moments being cringe, they were funny. The Blind Wave boys made me wish my husband and I could've watched it with them.

Because after we finished it, we both nitpicked some stuff and then after watching Blindwave, we took back most of our nitpicks. It was fun seeing parts of that movie in a new way. And that's how much I loved it, that I had to go see it again with Blind Wave. 

I agree that the android looked weird. But I disagree with Steve that the monster at the end was bad. It was awesome and very creepy! 

That movie made me excited for the second game to Alien Isolation.

So maybe some realization will hit the viewers of the channel that Steve is talking about. But I guess people love to hate watch. Couldn't be me. 

The channels I dropped don't give a shit about putting more thought into their videos because they have so many views from hate watchers or from people who can't tell it's fake trash yet.

I still agree with Steve that A.I. is here to stay and that we have to adapt. The hope is to adapt while being mindful of not cheating anyone out of their job or credit. I think classes on learning how to code and maintenance tech should be free. So, everyone has the chance to have a job to work along side A.I. vs being replaced by it.

Using A.I. to help translate text while traveling or simplify a medical document are good ways that A.I. can help without taking jobs. I wish it wasn't used for art but wishing it away doesn't do shit. Just have to sadly adapt.  

It's ultimately up to rich, powerful people and companies to gain a heart and actually use A.I. for good. These greedy assholes just need to be taken down if they wont fucking change.

37:20 I remember the day Becadago finally got into Steve's group of friends that all started as fans and Beca fucked it up by being annoying and spamming invite requests to join back into the Fortnite game. They were just not ready to tap out and wanted more time playing with Steve but all they had to do was wait for another day. Most likely off stream because they were Fortnite friends with him and can see the next time Steve would be online.

They just fucked up thinking their bratty spams were funny. 

Also, Beca ruined the magic of them always winning trivial games because they admitted that they googled answers real fast when playing. 

They would only show up to streams if the Valleyfolk were streaming Jackbox. They would always get in. And they would always win trivia type games. So, learning that they just googled all their answers when in the past they were asked by Joe, if they were smart or just googling and they said in chat that they knew random crap...it feels weird to suddenly let them join the group. 

I think that's why Steve told them that they can join the game again next time after Steve's other friends came online. Because usually Steve will let his friends stay in the lobby to just talk even with the player slots being full, since people in the lobby can see the gameplay. But he said "later" to Beca. He wanted to slowly become friends with them.

Beca hardly talked in chat so there was no reason to think they were lying to Joe. It wasn't a big deal because the boys (and Lee) loved singing Beca's username into a song. The streams were chill. But it turned into a big deal when they revealed that they did google AND they're annoying as fuck.  

So, the only impressive thing about them is that they type fast.

It wouldn't surprise me if Becadago were annoying to other streamers.

What a fucking let down Beca turn out to be. Just an immature brat who cheated at trivia.
