Severance, birthdays, and why "WE HAVE TO GO BACK!"

Steve, I love you but I really hate it when you talk about the process of why and how an episode is recorded. Just get into it. Unless the story of the process is funny, it's a waste of time.

I marathoned Severance in two days (I'm typing this on June 29th) and rewatched it slower. I love that show. I agree, it feels like being apart of history. I really hope this show is only 4 seasons long.

But Breaking Bad is 5 seasons and Better Call Saul is 6 seasons; both of those shows are amazing from start to finish. So, Severance staying amazing for 5 seasons can happen but it'll be so stressful getting there with our fingers crossed.

I love when they talk about their childhood or early adult years. Joe and Steve are only 5-6 years older than me so I relate to a lot of what they talk about. (The 80s bled into the 90s, and 90s into early 2000s.) 

In Japan they had cigarette machines too, when I was there in 2007! I seen a group of kids in school uniforms just buying from those machines....so the honor system is kinda bullshit there hahaha 

My host sister said what they were doing was wrong but she didn't tell anyone, we just laughed about it.

Steve's brother sounds like a lazy parent. I hope his kids calls him out when they get older and learn about the shitty author of HP, knowing that their dad knew but was too lazy to have a conversation about it.

I'm glad Elliott is watching AND reading Stephen King stories! I've been feeling frustrated with booktubers and booktok creators acting like SK isn't worth the hype. He's a good story teller but that doesn't mean he's perfect and readers like to think hype = perfection. 
Ugh. Anyway...

I think Elliott should go back and listen to The Shinning audiobook to understand that the father character is a better person in the book than he is in the movie. 


48:57 Okay, Bratty-Stee. I liked it without knowing it was Nicolas Cage until I listened to a podcast about it. I loved the atypical, dandere main character. (Kinda like the one in the movie, Nope.) I enjoyed the type of drama the movie had and it told us from the start that it was supernatural with her being half psychic.

Nicolas Cage didn't carry that movie, it's just the thing everyone mainly talks about because they couldn't tell it was him at first. (Or like me, at all.)
If the character was the same but another GOOD actor did it, a lot of people would still like that movie.

A internet trend I hate is people ranting or telling a story while putting on makeup. ~They just have no time to sit and talk they HAVE to do the video and try to show off how busy their life is. They gotta go now!! Can't wait--but they also have to say their thing or their forget!!!~

17:11 I hope you do, Elliott! I've been working out an hour a day. I used to not do weekends but ever since I've made up my mind to visit Phoenix this summer, I've been working out all the days of the week. I want a summer body! 

I've been working out for a while because I do want abs and to be hot for my husband but going on a trip where I'll be seeing my friends did motivate me to work out a little more.

I love that they can hold in their laugh longer when adding to jokes than Mike can. Mike laughs after every sentence he says. 


I've been listening to audiobooks when I workout or when I'm cleaning the house. I like reading more but I think some books are more fun as audiobooks because you don't really know when it ends. You can't see the last page. The last line. That can be really fun if you're listening to horror or suspense. 

And sometimes the voice really helps bring the characters alive. 

But--no, Elliott! I'm sad you didn't finish Fairy Tale! ...But also...I think you wouldn't have liked the last part so I'm just glad you got to enjoy the first half because it's perfect for you; a dog lover.

Listen to books while working out so you have another reason to keep exercising; finding out what happens next in the book! 

Also, reading on a tablet is good if you can't find good lighting for a physical book. Because I do like physical books more but sometimes I just want to read in bed, in the dark or low lighting.

I think four seasons of Severance is perfect. It's not too long.
We can learn all about the cult company and have both Marks become one in season three.
The last season can be about taking the cult down and having the other severed characters become one. 

I can see Helena softening and agreeing to it. I love how she seems to be obsessed with Mark, outside of just making sure he keeps going to work. She didn't need to fuck him or find him in a restaurant.  

I think she was truthful when she told him she didn't like who she was. I think she's jealous of Helly for finding love. Helena is lonely. 

So, I think four seasons is perfect to wrap up the whole story without it feeling rushed.
