Aftershow for The Valleycast - Month of October

So Snyder, Tarantino, and the Hawk Tuah Girl Walk Into a Bar...

My dad and I used to watch horror movies too. I miss that.
I feel like Joe would claw his way back into his daughter's life if it felt like she was pulling too far away. I wish my dad was like.

I wish my dad was a nice person to be friends with.

Joe listening to Steve's feelings on older actors > Mike listening to Steve's feelings on older actors.

Have Joe on DB and hopefully his chill and understanding personality will rub off on Mike when faced with different opinions.

46:40 A guy!

I remember I made friends in 4th grade by noticing a white girl holding a Pokémon book and I pointed it out and said I loved Pokémon too. She stopped and came up to me and she became one of my best friends for 3 years. Then we both went to different middle schools and lost contact.

I miss her. I remember going over to her house and her showing me around because it was so big. (Big for me, I didn't get my own room until I went to college.) That memory is still saved in my mind because she was so happy and talkative when she was usually shy and quiet.

I tried looking online for her but she either uses a username, changed her name or is very private. And even if I found her, I don't know if I would send a message because the friend I knew is gone. She might be someone I hate now. A trump supporter or just into shit I find boring.

I remember some friends that I had in grade school reached out and found where I lived while I was in middle school and I remember not caring that much because they came to my house while I was watching cartoons. (Couldn't pause like you can with everything now.) I remember wanting to hurry and stop talking to them to get back inside and watch TV.

They never came around again I guess I made it obvious or they forgot because their kids. Even looking back on it now, I don't care. They were girls I didn't have much in common with but we became friends just because we sat next to each other in class. So, I'd like to think if it was my friend that loved Pokemon, I would've been so happy and invited her in to watch cartoons with me.

But that can't happen anymore with kids, huh? Losing contact. It's so easy to keep tract of anyone on social media or on gaming systems. And most kids have phones now so just by having their own numbers they will never lose touch of friends unless they choose to. No worry about the family moving and changing their home phone anymore.

Going BACK TO THE ISLAND with Ralph Dapel!

You're right, Steve, DB is different without him:
Owen in the DB studio > Kevin in the DB studio

I wish I loved Lost but it was just okay. It Feels Like The First Time podcast is what made it fun to watch because it was great listening to Steve make Brett and Owen laugh. And I love listening to Steve nerd out.

Yup! I love guest episodes because Mike can't be a grumpy old man on those. Or even better, sometimes Mike isn't on those episodes!

IT'S HAMMER TIME (and also hurricane time...?)

2:50 Yeah, Elliott!

26:55 The way these boys add on to each other's jokes is what I miss from Mike. Steve always "yes-ands" to Mike but Mike wont if it's something he doesn't agree with.

But here is Steve and Elliott who will joke with each other because they can see moments where it can be funny vs stopping a joke because they want to change the rules instead of adding to it. Joe is staying silent and then laughing along to move on while Mike would've been shutting the joke down faster like he did when Nicholas Hamilton was a guest and was shitting on a game Mike liked.

I like that Steve can shit on a movie that Joe or Elliott likes without them being a grumpy brat. There's room to praise something and shit on it in the same episode on a comedy podcast.

Mike used to be fun on DB but now that he's older, he's a killjoy if he doesn't like the way the topic is going. "We only do bits about MY interests and opinions! Yours are wrong and I don't want to laugh with you about them!"

Mike is that kid that will change the rules to a game if he's losing or quits the game if they don't let him do that.

(Steve, if you find this blog, just know that this is my space and I'm not going to sugar coat my feelings like how you don't sugar coat yours when you talk about celebrities. Real people you could meet someday. I'm doing the same.

I'm a big fan of yours but not a blinded fangirl who will love anything you do and those around you does. So, I'm here minding my own business and typing out my honest feelings and if you choose to stay here, that's on you. I'm not on Reddit or somewhere where I hope you see this to anger you. If you can shit on an actor who seems like a chill person, (and this actor.) then I can do the same with Youtube celebrities. And don't act like you're not one because most people don't get sponsored and free movie invites. And most people don't get free stuff sent to them to share on Instagram.

So, rather or not you respect this, you'll get over it and I'll still watch your podcasts and live streams if you complain about me for content because your humor is top tier. Right up there with Brittany Broski.)

I agree with Steve about that Art the Clown character, those movies aren't good. They are meant to be laughed at. I tired listening to a podcast called, Too Scary, Didn't Watch but from the start they all complain that the woman character was unrealistic so I stopped. The podcast, Ruined is much better at understanding the vibe and tone the movies are going for.

So, those two podcasts are about how one person loves horror movies and the other hosts don't. So, the one that watches the movies will retell the movie, scene by scene to get the other person's thoughts and reactions. It's like listening to them tell a ghost story or just a cheap way to experience a movie.

The one I think did the best job at retelling a movie was The Dead Zone Drive-In but they don't post anymore. So, Ruined is the next best thing to that type of story telling. They are both funny women who do stand up.

I'm worried that Trump is going to have a robot army. I really hope the tech isn't there yet and that the companies are just acting like it is.

The Mystery of the M*rdered Hawk

I love decorating for Christmas. I start as soon as it's midnight on November first. Because for years, I have done nothing for Halloween. I watch horror movies, shows, read books and play horror videogames all year round. So, October is just a month where the rest of the country finally joins me on celebrating the horror genre.

And since all my friends are in another state, there are no parties to go to and I have no kids so...Halloween day is boring to me. People saying it's too early to put up Christmas decorations makes me happy that my joy annoys them. Every. Year. 💖

12:25 Haha!

Yup, same! Instagram reels make TikTok pointless.
But it's only pointless to those of us that don't get paid on TikTok. I think it's really shallow to not give a fuck about people living off of TikTok just because you can still pay your bills. (Not that Joe and Elliott seemed that shallow about it, I'm just thinking about other people are since we're on this topic.)

It's kinda exciting hearing them talk about Hoopla. I just started using it a few months ago. It's a very good way to save money vs paying for a subscription.

Them talking about murder crows made me think about the assassin group, The Crows, in Dragon Age. I feel like Zevran would have a good laugh about Elliott's story.

The Penguin Will Save Us?!

I'm so glad I haven't eaten fast food in years. I've only been eating at home. But I have eaten some frozen food, canned food and cup ramen and I think those things can have nasty shit in them if the workers and company are careless too. At least I'm not raising the risk more by eating out though.

I hope that place goes out of business. I think it's stupid that Steve is still going to give them money. Even if he's not going to order food, he's still helping them stay open by going there for movies.

I agree that crunchy is better than soggy nachos.

26:26 LOL

Yup. It will be 2016 all over again........
My distraction is Alan Wake 2, Dragon Age 4 and the new Life Is Strange game. Plus, the books on Hoopla.
