They talk about how it's hard to judge a famous person for a rumor when they too are kinda famous and hate it when fans judge them based on a rumor.
Reminds me of the fans that believed Roosterteeth had something to do with Lee being voted out of the group. They were so sure of themselves that it was frustrating to see just how people can fool themselves to believe a story they made up. Thinking they're smart enough to guess the missing puzzle pieces is what makes fandoms annoying.
I mention in another blog post that fans need to learn that friend groups fight and it's not realistic or fair to act like they all deserve a say in the fight.
11:35 Title bit.
They talk about the Harry Potter game and I had mixed feelings about it too when it came out. I don't like the bullying of people who just love Harry Potter and just wanted to play a game they dreamed about.
But bully the fuck out of people who are only playing the game and talking about the game a lot because they agree with that piece of shit woman.
I wish people would take the time to understand the context of someone's actions.
I've never gotten into Harry Potter but I understand wanting to play a fun game of a series you really love. It's hard making choices that is linked to hurt, hate and pain but if you don't hesitate and think about why people are hurting from this then you need to reflect on yourself.
Don't hide behind, "a lot of people worked on this game" as a reason to buy it. You know you only buy shit because you like it, no matter how many people created it.
It's not always easy to choose between passions but if you don't stop and thinking before choosing then you really need to reflect on why it's an easy choice for you. Buy what you want but don't kid yourself into thinking that you're doing it to support the people who worked on it.
29:40 Mike should let Steve finish his train of thought.
I like that Steve has conflicted feelings. It's hard to see a face and hear an artist's voice when you know that they're a monster in real life.
Mike is trying so hard to simplify that. Why? Let Steve explain and talk his feelings out.
Let Steve share his thoughts without you cutting it short with jokes like, "actors aren't the characters" "every actor is a liar anyways" 🙄 We know, Mike but we aren't robots. We have to work through our feelings and I like that Steve was trying to do that.
Cool it with the "everyone is telling the truth at all times" joke if it's just to shut down what Steve is trying to say because you want to cut it short.
Clear the air and have a conversation with that friend instead of writing them off. If they're a friend then they are worth listening to before unfriending, right? And I'm not saying Mike unfriended them, I'm saying this to the fans that agree with Mike and would unfriend that person without thinking about why that friend feels uncertain with your morals.
The friend is in the wrong too for assuming and tell that to them. No one is perfect. Help your friends fucking grow and help them back!)
Steve compared liking art made by monsters to seeing someone's face who broke your heart. I think that's perfect because I remember hearing certain songs that would remind me of my ex and I would get sad then annoyed. Or certain words they would say a lot and or someone else with the same name. It ruins those words, songs, games, and shows for a long time because it's link to that ex.
But those things don't always stay ruined and that's kinda what "separating the art from the artist" is like.
I've been downloading everything Alana has been in with Steve because I'm worried they might delete videos and podcast episodes she was in. They were so fucking funny together, I don't want that content to just disappear.
All we know is that she broke up with him over text because Steve shared that information. She seems like a good person who did something hurtful.
People are complicated. Which is why I don't agree with "stan culture" either. Lets all be fans of someone while knowing they aren't perfect.
I love that Steve can "yes and" every time Mike interrupts him👌
35:22 Steve does a song.
Kevin dancing 🙃
Fridays are not Dynamic Banter day, it's Mondays. Lets be real. The video version is the only version that matters.
I wish someone would record the full live shows that Steve does. I even get upset when I miss his live streams.
One day, I'll be able to plan a trip to see him.
The only people I've met that I'm a big fan of is Trisha Hershberger:
(Those pictures were taken 10 years ago.)
I would love to add Steve to that list. I would love to meet Joe, Elliott, Mike, Owen and Brett too. All the EZU podcast boys mean so fucking much to me. I'm scared that by the time I save enough money to go meet them, they will be sick of doing live shows or meetups.
48:25 Remix🎵
After the ads, they talk about the padding to make your features look bigger.
I reminds me of a video I seen that butt pads are popular in South Korea with celebrities and they are shamed for it if people find out they use them. (So, I don't know why it's popular to use them...)
I agree though, it's not worth tricking the person that you have a different body if they are going to see you naked anyway and know the truth. But I can see it boosting your confidence, if you're just out to look nice, like wearing makeup or a push-up bra.
