Aftershow for Dynamic Banter - A Time You've Never Seen Before Ep. 397

1:35 Mike is hyper at the start of the show.
I like him this way!

19:04 Rock Band!
Steve streamed it this past weekend and it was great 🎵 😎

The tiny submarine is funny.

Kevin made me laugh.

50:53 Mike forgetting to eat.
This is not the same but I remember not eating much for days because I was glued to a game. That will never happen again. That was stupid. It's almost as stupid as working yourself so hard just for views and followers. I was at least having fun. There was no stress for me other than, " I should eat."

Lets all remember to stay healthy.

57:16 Why do people watch him?
I'm with Mike, I don't understand how people can just watch dumb, random videos. But hearing Steve explain the weird shit he sees is better than actually watching the videos he's talking about.
Steve hypes it up. It's good to know that about him so I don't ever feel the need to go and search for videos he mentions. Its fine enough just hearing his version of retelling it.

Like, how I hate watching bad horror movies but I love listening to people talk about bad horror movies who LOVE those bad horror movies. (Dead Zone Drive-In, Ruined, and Dead Meat

I just never cared about Annoying Orange, Salad Fingers or the meme faces.
Or ugly cartons like, Cow and Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Squidbillies.

It took me so long to check out South Park because it looked so fucking stupid that I never gave it a chance until I was looking for something to watch while I was sick in bed and South Park was the only cartoon on and I ended up loving it.

So, maybe that could happen with the other weird shit I listed but I'm just not in the mood to give them my time when I have so much other stuff to watch and I know I love. That time when I was sick was a lucky break for South Park. Because if I had home internet, I would've never discovered my love for that show.

BUT I know I would love it more if South Park had beautiful animation. I don't know why comedy cartons NEED to be weird looking...

Thank you, Steve (and sickness) for sharing weird shit we might like.

57:55 A call for new History Road theme songs.
I guess I agree. I just remember them having cool theme songs that they haven't played that much and I'm wondering why they don't use those to change it up.

But the fans always surprise me with how talented they are so I'm excited to see what new themes people will created for History Road!

1:00:25 Kevin seems annoyed that fans are emailing him.
Mike points it out.

-Kevin doesn't want people messaging him for History Road but he wont stop telling Steve which emails to read.

-Kevin doesn't want to be on mic, as a guest but he wont stop adding his commentary off mic.

We don't know what you want, Kevin. You're confusing us.

It's reminding me of how fans who become mods for streamers become elitist towards the rest of the fans who aren't mods, who aren't in the inner circle.

It wouldn't hurt if Kevin showed some sympathy for fans who really want to be noticed by their favorite comedians.

So many times, I've seen fans type in a chat about how happy they are to have caught their favorite streamer live. That they were having a bad day but being noticed had brightened it.

I've been a fan of Steve and Mike since the beginning too and I never sent anything to them. I was a lurker for so long until this past December, I started doing the "Aftershow" blog posts to nerd out to them. And I finally sent in a History Road about me sending a letter to my dad.

It's okay if it never gets read because it was just so exciting sending one in at all. If I ever get motivation to send another email, it will not be about my dad. I don't want to be one of those fans who sends the same email over and over again. Just seems too aggressive for me to do but I understand why fans do it.

Anyway, I just looked at it to see what I typed, just to make sure I didn't try to get Kevins attention and I didn't. But I know I thought about putting Kevin's name in it to get a better chance at being picked because I know that Kevin chooses the emails now.

I'm glad I didn't put his name in it but since I thought about doing it, I feel sorry for the fans that did and are now being roasted a little for it.

I guess Kevin wants fans to ignore him but how do we do that and accept that he's apart of the show? Fans want to send emails to Mike and Steve but Kevin is the one who will pick the emails based on if he thinks they are interesting enough for the boys to read but doesn't want the emails communicating with him. Hmm....

1:02:45 How to describe Dynamic Banter?
It's a comedy podcast.

1:06:28 The title bit

I'm on the guy's side about the weird date location. The girl was strange for not telling him details about where they were. Because it doesn't give him a chance to understand her situation.

They don't know each other so it's totally fine for him to not care about her being too shy or sad to explain why she choose that spot as a date. She could have made it not weird by just explaining it.

Let's normalized honesty. Why waste time being vague?

1:25:23 The boys are sad a restaurant they love is not around anymore.
It makes me want to walk around Phoenix and see what changed. I don't have a close attachment to food from restaurants or fast food places because when I'm hungry, any food is either amazing or it's shit. I don't think I've ever thought of a meal being "okay."

So, when people would argue over which place had the best pizza, burgers, tacos, fries or drinks, I didn't care about those debates. All and any of those places were good enough for me.

But I can relate to being sad when a place closes down because of the memories connected there.

-I don't remember the food but I loved when my parents would take us to the Rainforest Cafe at the Arizona Mills because it meant we were going to shop for video games right after.

-I don't remember the taste but I loved going to Pete's Fish & Chips because that meant it was movie night.

-I don't remember the name but I loved a pretzel place in the Metrocenter mall, where my friend got free pretzel balls one time and we had fun shopping for prom shoes. I bought pretzel balls every time I went to that mall since that time. They were cheap and just made me think of my friend, Connie. Who made me feel pretty and sexy. I never wore makeup or girly clothes until that year, I was 17.

I think I'll go around and visit those places the next time I visit Arizona. It's been a few years.

1:31:41 No soul in big company restaurants.
I think we need a different word for "soul" when we talk about stuff we love. I hate the word "soul" to explain what makes something good or to explain art. It's weird that atheists choose when to believe in souls and when not to believe.

And if you're rolling you eyes thinking, "You know what we mean." I do and I want you to say what you mean! The word, "soul" makes me roll my eyes.

In Mass Effect, when Legion asks, "Does this unit have a soul?" There's no option to say, "I'm an atheist so no. No one has a soul."

Thank you for reading my bratty tangent.
