Shoulder Fetishes and Elliott is LOCKED UP
Korn reference at the start was nice.
Tank tops are awesome. Haze Kevin for his weird opinion!
I don't know, I will always feel weird that Steve doesn't like certain funny people. Ryan Reynolds, Jack Black (he's been annoyed when people compare him to Jack Black but...come on, Steve! You even sing like him!) and he doesn't like Family Guy and Friends.
(I hope he'll find Brittany Broski funny. It's my dream for them to become friends someday.)
It's like how sometimes I'll love a villain and love seeing them on screen and other times I wont. I don't know what it is in my brain that picks and chooses which evil I like and hate. I guess it's like that with Steve and funny people? Our opinions are random sometimes, I guess.
When they start talking about parents putting up with sleepovers, all I could think about was Corey Taylor's third book where he rants about his son's friends. I loved hearing him bitch about the bratty kid.
15:51 That was my experience too. I was on my best behavior when I went into other people's homes. I was on my best behavior around other adults in general. Even when those adults were pieces of shit and didn't deserve my respect.
I was shy and quiet. I don't know how any adult could find something to hate in a kid like that. If I could go back in time, I would steal shit from their homes. They would never guess it was little ol' me. I should've done something worth that hate.
Now, I hate kids too BUT I don't show it to them. I keep to myself and try to stay away. I try not to look or talk to them when I'm around friends who have kids. Sometimes just looking is all it takes for them to take interest in a person and bug the living fuck out of them. (My Tia's son hitting me with pillows while I just try to sit down in peace and my Tia not stopping it because she thinks it's funny and cute...)
I'm never mean, even though I really want to be. It's not hard to be polite. Fuck the adults who hate kids AND show it to even the shy ones. Go bully the other kids and leave the shy ones alone! (I'm kinda joking.)
20:09 Hahaha! I like to think some parents liked me and thought this. All my friends were louder and more hyper than me (until high school but by that time, the sleepovers stopped).
Also, I miss the days where there were no cell phones. If people weren't home then no one got mad if you didn't call them back right away. Family couldn't keep tabs on me every hour like they can now. It was fun and free.
When I got my first cell phone in 2004, my dad got pissed anytime I didn't answer his calls. It turned him into a nag. Luckily, my mom still treated cell phones like home phones at the time; she would only turn it on if she wanted to make a call and if the person didn't answer she just left a message and turned off her phone. She didn't expect a call back, she just wanted to let someone know something.
I wish the world today wasn't glued to their phones. It's fucking annoying that most websites require a cellphone number to sign up/sign in now... Overwatch 2 wont even allow players to sign up with a prepaid number. That's the only type of phone I've used my whole life. It's cheaper and a better deal for people who don't talk on the phone a lot. I just use Discord, Instagram, Facebook or even Skype if I need to talk to someone for a long time. A cellphone plan is a waste of money when I'm already paying around $100 a month for internet.
Fuck you, Overwatch 2. And fuck all other websites and companies that force us to have a phone number to use their "free" shit. Why do I need a phone bill to sign in?!?!
35:49 I love you, Steve.
I think I just ate anything I was given and didn't complain. Or I would throw it away without their parents knowing. I never experienced dinner at someone else place while sitting at a table. We always took the plates to their rooms to watch TV and eat in private.
I did eat with my own family at the table but if I had friends staying over, we too would just take our plates and eat in my room.
38:40 Right?! Why are the bedrooms so close to each other?
I want to delete certain memories.
We Figured Out Consciousness (ft. TikTok Star Elliott Morgan)
Elliott being into Zelda lore is awesome and cute. (Still waiting for that Zelda gameplay, Elliott.)
I love Elliott's TikTok. I love that others are finding him and seeing how funny and witty he is. I hope he does more to boost his confidence to do more for the Valleyfolk channel.
It was as enjoyable and charming as his solo episode of the podcast.
Steve has proven to be a one man show too through his livestreams.
Joe can do it too but he always quits solo videos after seeing the views. It pisses me off when people with talent really care about views. If they keep it up, the views will go up. (I tried looking for the one I'm thinking of but I think he made the video private...) Just give it a longer fucking chance, Joe! You're great!
58:58 Hahaha!
Steve Takes the Red Pill and We Found the Most Charismatic Human Ever
4:11 My guess was Corey Taylor. He is so charismatic and knows how to talk to a crowd too.
7:33 It's a beautiful skill that also amazes me every time.
15:01 Reminds me of the moment Corey Taylor tripped, feel down and got up limping. I love that he doesn't act like it didn't happen. Some do that and it's so awkward. Good frontmen laugh at themselves to let the crowd feel good about laughing too. (Here's him letting them all know he's okay.)
The only show I can think of that had an actor in it that made it worth watching, because everything else sucks in that show, is Tom Ellis in Lucifer. Thank fuck he's the main character.
42:47 That's so fuckin' funny.
I've never been to Disneyland. I've only been to Universal Studios once, in Japan. So, I'm not that interested in the news about the park BUT I am interested in the Cars ride. Maybe when it's made, I'll aim to finally go to Disneyland and see what I've been missing.
Matrix glasses bit throughout this episode was awesome, Steve.
Our Doctor GOT ARRESTED AND IT'S BAD
This makes me scared of my dentist appointment next month because I always look at these people like they are professionals and can never make mistakes or be corrupt. Ughhhhh.....
19:29 I love that the show, Friends had a big impact on Elliott and Joe.
It gets really annoying when people who never seen it but know some parts of it, want to shit all over it now. They feel proud to point out something problematic about it when every fucking show back then was problematic too. We know some jokes don't age well but there's more jokes that did and that is the fuckin' reason why we still love it.
Tell me a favorite 90s show of yours and I'll tell you something wrong with it.
Annoying, right?
I know it's frustrating when bigots have shows and movies they can comfortably enjoy and laugh with but not everyone who loved Friends is laughing with the toxic jokes. We're laughing AT them. Laughing at how messed up it is hearing those jokes. Or we're awkwardly smiling at those old jokes and waiting for a better scene to start because in Friends, the good shit outweighs the bad shit.
At it's core, the character's hearts are in the right place. They are not hateful people. We wouldn't love the show if they were.
People forget that Friends is a comedy with very little character development. We watched to laugh. Remember laughing? Remember not taking anything on television that serious? Let's go back to that. Leave all the stress in the real world, press play and save your anger for the real fight.
29:07 Jack Black as Steve:
I'm glad Kevin isn't in this episode because, one, Joe, Steve and Elliott are trauma bonding and two, they can talk about the Alien movies without him saying how he didn't like the movies that much after the first one.
Even through I agree with him on that, sometimes its best to just let the room nerd out together on something they love. We don't always have to point out that we are the minority.
41:56 You would love The Outer Worlds, Steve. It's just like Futurama (without the aliens...for now.) with it's humor, smart writing and it's a straight up sci-fi comedy. It balances the serious moments with its dark humor very well.
On a livestream, your friend, Jesse (not Owlbynight) recommended it to you too. (When you talked about playing Fallout: New Vegas because the company that made that Fallout game made this one too!) The Outer Worlds looks like an open world game but it's not as big as Fallout so it wont take weeks to beat. It's perfect. And there's only two DLC stories and both are fantastic.
45:11 They are so good at playing along with each other, on the spot. They are the funniest people in the world to me. This small example is a taste of how they are in every video they make together.
That loud movie reminds me of Steve talking about seeing the third Conjuring movie at a drive-in. He said it was so uncomfortably loud and that there was a security guy standing in front of one of the speakers. He seemed so unbothered by it that Steve and his friend made jokes about it while watching the movie. That shit is so funny to imagine!
Steve talked about it on a Dynamic Banter episode and Mike was a killjoy about it and cut that story short. He didn't think it was funny. I wish Steve, or Kevin, would take notes of stories and bits that didn't land with Mike and try them out on the Valleycast. Get a satisfying reaction and tangent from Joe and Elliott that DB doesn't give.
Vegas, Vance, & The Candy Salad Trauma Trend!
Them talking about seeing concerts makes me hope that maybe before the Slipknot tour is over, I can go see them as an early birthday gift to myself. We'll see.
I also just use Instagram as TikTok. I check TikTok on the desktop to see people I follow but I don't browse my feed for random people anymore. Someone I follow on Instagram would have to show me cool people to follow now. I just don't have time to get lost scrolling my feed when there's so many videogames to play, Youtube videos to watch and books to read.
Also, yay! Elliott made another video:
I need Elliott to go on LGH to talk about aliens with Aly again and nerd out/rant about if that guy is believable or not.
I asked him this and he seen it so maybe he reached out? My figures are crossed!
37:09 Exactly. Doesn't make any sense.
I'm so excited to watch the new Alien movie with my husband. I love that I'm hearing nothing but good things about it.
