Aftershow for The Valleycast - The SCARIEST Drives On the Road!

I always get sad when Steve isn't on an episode but that's what DB is for ๐Ÿงก

One minute into the podcast, Elliott wants us to leave a comment on what we want changed next year. He's joking but lets take it at face value anyway. Go comment that we would like them to revamp the Patreon. Make it focus on the podcast and advertise that the old videos are still there and only available on there. Delete the stuff that talks about the discounts, shoutouts, and personal videos.

I think it's worth getting more into Twitch streams. Steve does a great job of making it very fun. And I've seen fans be interested in Elliott playing Zelda and was asking when he was going to stream.
On Instagram, I asked him:

Don't wana ask again because I don't wanna bug him so can ya'll ask for me? Thanks.

Just have one or two tiers. One is the basic $1 to get the podcast early and to just support The Valleyfolk. And maybe a higher tier, $5 is for access to the old videos already exclusive on the Patreon, plus, access to extra videos like:

Do a TV show or movie club (even a book club!) and talk about it with fans. It Feels Like The First Time is already on The Valleycast feed, so just continue it for the Patreon!

If Elliott is still having trouble streaming, maybe just record himself playing and talking to the camera. Everyone does that now, they're called, "Let's Plays" and they're fun to watch.

Joe talks about how fun it was making silly videos. Maybe the ones he doesn't feel is good enough for the public, he can just show exclusively on Patreon.

Get Peter Rollings on as a guest again. Get Aly and Nat from Lets Get Haunted as a guest. Get some people that Joe works with on as a guest. Get Trisha on! Get Brett and Ralph on again, they said they would love to be back but haven't yet! All these guests don't mind using Zoom.

I think it would be good to start out with $1-5. More people will be willing to pay $5 than $10 until they see the boys are back in the same room. The Zoom style isn't killing the mood for me BUT it is for others and the boys themselves so until they can make time to be in the same room, their Patreon shouldn't charge over $5 if they aren't "feeling it" themselves.

There are other podcasts who do Zoom and they are thriving. (Let's Get Haunted, Lemme Fix It, Ruined, F**kface...so this is why the Zoom doesn't bother me like it does for everyone else.) It's not the Zoom killing the vibe, it's the boy's attitude. Instead of seeing 6-10 comments, they see zero. But it's not fucking zero! It hurts to be ignored unless we are hundreds of comments THEN they see us....

4:37 "Joe Lean" video.
Joe talks about making a fun video and just getting a random idea to want to do it. Doesn't have to be "art" to be worth doing and sharing. Silly videos will always be appreciated. I would love if they all started to get back into making fun shit for their channel and Patreon.

I remember on a Talkin' Banter episode when Owen said how he missed being able to just make fun stuff for himself and not for work. And Brett saying he has to turn his work into his "playground" or he'll never have time to have fun otherwise.

A revamped Patreon could be a playground for silly and chill videos again! They just have to want to do it. There's nothing standing in their way. There doesn't need to be a strict schedule for anything else other than their podcast.

12:20 Elliott took a "pre-workout" (I guess it's a energy thing.)
That talk made me think of how I'm barely hanging on to working out everyday. I just been doing arm workouts. I think the cold makes me lazy to do full body workouts. But hopefully I can get back into it by next month.

I'm also trying to drink lots of water but it's hard. I'm one of those people who finds water "boring." I don't know how else to explain it but after drinking some I feel full but I know I shouldn't be. I don't feel full when drinking anything else, just water.

But I've found that using a cute/cool looking mug or bottle makes me want to pick it up at a lot so I recommend doing that to help you drink more water, if you struggle with that too.

18:40 They talk about what they got for Christmas.
I have yet to get my gifts because my family and friends all live in a different state so they're still being shipped. But I'm very excited to open them!

I also love sending Christmas cards out. I just fill out cards while watching something on Youtube and I decorate it with stickers and colored pencils ๐Ÿ’• And it feels so satisfying sending out a big stack of cards.

31:40 Joe meets a fan at the car sales place.
They keep joking that only one person listens but come on! We're still here and we love the podcast because it's the only window we have to get to see your friendship. You are all, always, so fucking funny together! Why is that so hard to understand?

34:04 Where they got the episode title from.

37:33 Movie talk that leads into adding Christmas movies into the list of Classics.
I think Violent Night should be in that list! It still has a good amount of wholesome, cuteness to the story while being entertaining to people who love gory action and dark humor. It's Home Alone meets Die Hard.

This movie seems like it would be stupid but it's surprisingly not.
It's going to be a movie to watch every Christmas for sure!

Aftershow for Dynamic Banter - Trillions of Tic Tacs Ep. 393

I was a little worried that this episode wouldn't feel like a Christmas one but it does halfway through!

11:13 Naps and lucid dreaming.
Steve thinks in the future, we will be able to control our dreams easily. I would love that so much! It would be fun to think up whatever I want:

I can remake a better ending for my favorite movies and games.
I can create my own stories instead of searching for the right fanfiction.
I can insert myself into any story, like a VR game.
I can "go back in time" and relive fun memories. Or bad memories and create better outcomes.

Mike drawing a rocket ship flying over ET and landing on him, made me laugh.

Steve and Mike say that AI art looks like dreams. People keep saying that AI can't make art but if someone made paintings and drawings of art that looks like it's made by AI, would that THEN be art?
Because I like the weird look of it.

30:46 Steve said he had seven ideas and they only picked one to do for DB.
Why couldn't the other six ideas that aren't being used, be done for The Valleycast? It makes me sad that Steve, Joe and Elliott seem to have given up on it. Any ideas Steve has for DB but Mike and Kevin disagree with then he can save those ideas for The Valleyfolk. And same with Joe and Elliott. If they have an idea to do on their other channels but can't, why not do them for The Valleycast? Instead of just letting those ideas die.

I wrote in to the "Lemme Fix It" podcast and I asked if they had any ideas to fix The Valleycast because I really want the boys to know how much I love that podcast and don't want them to give up on it! And I know, I'm not the only fan who feels this way. If you agree with me, please email LemmeFixItPod@gmail.com so that they can get to it faster than if it's just me.
(Plus, the Lemme Fix It podcast is really funny! I recommend starting with the Blockbuster episode.)

33:42 They talk about Vegas here too!
I would love if they collaborated with The Valleycast but I get the feeling Mike wouldn't like that. Hopefully I'm wrong because it seems like it would be such a fun trip for Steve, Mike, Joe, Elliott and Kevin to go to Vegas together! And Elliott, Steve and Kevin were talking about that last week!

38:14 Ads
It sucks but I've been skipping the ads now. It's not that funny anymore. Shouldn't be a problem though since every other podcast does boring ad reads and are still getting sponsored. And the Patreon will make sure their "lights stay on."

But what an end of a good thing... DB was the only podcast where I loved the ads, was excited to hear them but now I don't give a fuck about the ads.

47:30 They give each other gifts.
Proves that there is no point in ever listening to the audio only version of this podcast. Mike gives Steve a gift that makes them hug and listeners don't know what it is yet. But people watching the video know! Plus, they missed out on Mike's drawing!
I wish the video version would come out at the same time as the audio. (I don't mean the the video should hurry, I mean the audio should wait until the video version is ready to upload.)

I think it's really sweet that Steve actually wrapped Mikes gift in nice wrapping paper! I remember him ranting about how wrapping paper is a waste of time. But Steve proves himself wrong, it's worth showing how much you care about who's going to open it.

Mike surprising and shocking Steve is amazing! Him lying to Steve that, "It's shit. Don't get it" just so he can get it for Steve is so cool!

Kevin looks adorable in the beanie and gloves they gave him.

(I would love to see the Valleyfolk do a gift exchange on their podcast. It would be cute!)

1:11:20 DB or not DB starts
Again, there's not much tension in this game anymore when the episode is already so long.

I know they can't do it all the time but I would love to see them give each other gifts throughout the year because this was so fun to see! They could do it again for Valentine's Day because it's not just for romance but to show family and friends how much you love them. It's the same as Christmas but everything is red and pink.

Theories For The Next Mass Effect

I'm finally ready to share my thoughts on the Mass Effect teasers we got on N7 day. I was just having so much fun hearing and reading theories from other fans to actually focus and record my own theory. Plus, I wanted to wait until after The Game Awards just in case there was another teaser.

I recorded a podcast episode of my theories in 2021. And since my thoughts have not changed after knowing all these extra clues of what's in the next Mass Effect game, I'm just going to add more details to my theory in this blog post.

I want a new and improved story

The new picture teaser of the N7 character's silhouette, shows a bar or club.

People kept saying that it could be Omega or the Citadel but there seems to be an Angara so I'm thinking it's a bar in Andromeda or a new club in the Milky Way that we haven't seen yet. I'm just getting frustrated with the fans that want everything recycled.

I find it exciting thinking of stuff that weren't in any of the other games before. I want new things more than I want cameos of all the old characters.

It reminds me when fans would complain about the Mass Effect novels for having the information in those books not being fully in the games. And that it's "unfair" or "a bad choice" to force fans to buy books or to miss out completely because not everyone is a reader. I disagree with that bullshit.

If reading hurts your head, just listen to the audio version. If you like podcasts then you can listen to audio books. The novels would be pointless if it added nothing new to the Mass Effect series and only reused the information fans already know.

I love all the novels. They were fun to read and to experience another side of the characters we meet in the games. Shepard and Ryder don't need to know everything. Some things can be just for the fans.

It's good story telling to not let the main hero know everyone's business. That is the shit anime does that I hate. Anime will have all the important characters hiding behind a wall or something while spying on another character having a moment to themselves. A moment that could've been just between them and the viewers. I love stories where characters will NEVER find out about something so, it only hits harder for the viewers during rewatches.

Walter Jr. (Flynn) will never know that his dad thought of Jesse as a second son. That type of bittersweet drama is so delicious.

I want more Mass Effect novels and comics, please!

I want Andromeda 2

Making the game be based in Andromeda is easier when wanting to respect Mass Effect 3's endings. I would be fine with only seeing Shepard in ME5 on screens and audios. Bring Shepard's voice actors back just to record voice lines Shepard might have said before they died, that fans never heard before. Make Shepard feel legendary after their death. It would give fans such a intense, happy feeling hearing Shepard's voice and their name being mentioned in the next game. But don't actually bring Shepard back!

Having Liara tell our new character stories about Shepard would be more exciting than having Shepard be there in person. Just for them to not be impressed by a new threat because nothing can top the Reapers. Or worse, the story tries to create a bigger and stronger enemy than the Reapers...
Please don't. Dragon Ball Z and Hunter x Hunter (Ant arc) does this and it's annoying. Stories don't need to weaken past villains to make new villains exciting.

Different enemies > Over-powered enemies

(In the main Mass Effect subreddit, there was so much hate and anger about the Angara. Fuck those fans. I really hope they get nothing they want in ME5. It's like the people who still shit on Dragon Age 2 and Cyberpunk 2077. Move on and accept that all three of those games have always had a good story but now it's easier to see that after the game graphic hotfix and updates.)

The extreme happiness I felt was so instant after seeing that the face reveal was just a helmet. I was so glad to not see Shepard. If it was Shepard, they would know what helmet to use. That's not the helmet.

It's a new mystery character! I'm so happy! The pettiness side of my thoughts were saying, "Ha! Fuck anyone who wanted it to be Shepard so bad that they didn't care HOW it made sense." (They could still be right that Shepard really is back but for now, they're wrong!)

"Endings be damned...I want Shepard back, idc how" No! That's not how we should think. We should care about the "how" very much. We should demand good writing because for Mass Effect, I'm here for the story. Not the gameplay. This series isn't Halo and Doom. (I love those games but they zoom through the story to get back to the gameplay as quickly as possible.)

Please don't bring Shepard back, they already came back once and it was exciting. Don't ruin replays of ME2 and ME3!

This is why I wanted a Mass Effect remake more than a remaster. They could've made the ending be more simple where all Shepard has to do is activate the crucible and sit down with Anderson and watch the war end. That's the remake we needed for them to have more freedom in ME5 for Shepard's character. Why rerelease the games and not change the endings just to have ME5 say, "Shepard and their friends are back!"

I hope people who said they don't care how Shepard comes back, all take a breath, calm down and listen to what they are asking for. We don't want Mass Effect to be burned like Star Wars was, just to sell more merch. Please be careful what you wish for!

So, here's why I think all three endings can be canon and not ignored:

-With destroy, Liara being over 600, they had lots of time to rebuild the relays and new Geth. (Goodbye to EDI though.)

-With control, that would be the easiest ending to continue the story from. Shepard's copy controlling the Reapers to rebuild and advance the galaxy.

-With synthesis, I don't think they need to glow green all the time. I think the glowing was just for players to see something has changed inside the characters. Otherwise, the only clue that something was different is if characters all looked down at their hands and arms to make it obvious they feel different. So, the glow could've just been visual for players to quickly know the change worked.

Or the glow is canon but the glow was bright when it's fresh but fades (like, skin being red after a fresh tattoo) and that's why it's not showing up on Liara in the teaser.
Or it's just Bioware being sneaky to not spoil anything and just has her not glowing as default. Just like male Shepard was in the trailers but Shepard could also be a woman but she's not shown in the ME1 and ME2 trailers.

Male Shepard isn't the only canon. Just like the destroy ending isn't the only canon.

I'm excited thinking about a very long game! Not because of how long it takes to beat it in one sitting. Long because replaying it, you get a different story by choosing which ending you want to be canon in Mass Effect 5. Three possible story paths. Like, in Cyberpunk 2077 but not just for a different intro but a whole different game feel!

Like, choosing to be a mage or not in the Dragon Age series. (Or choosing to be a human, elf, dwarf, or qunari.) The game treats you differently base on what your character is. That's what Mass Effect was missing. If ME5 isn't open world, then I could see it having enough room for three story settings in one game!

The bar colors are red and blue which makes me excited for renegade to be back! Also, the paragon shape is in it.

Also, seeing the character that looks like Garrus, I thought maybe this could literally be the afterlife. That all these characters in the picture are dead. I thought of, "Meet me at the bar. I'm buying." The thought of him being there waiting for Shepard either because he died during the Reaper war or after but of old age, is so sweet and sad to think about. I love it!

But I don't see how that would work because where are the Quarians? So, if it's not the afterlife then why no Quarians in this bar? There can't STILL be racism towards Quarians in the Milky Way. Not after that war. So, maybe this bar is taking place in Andromeda and the Quarians are still looked down upon? Because their ark has to have gotten there already, there's a Hanar in the picture.

If it is in the Milky Way why wouldn't they be there? They eat the same food as Turians.
Can't wait to find out!

Do the Jardaan show up in the Milky Way with their Angara creations?

I hope we find out where the Kett came from and who are the Jardaan's enemies. Maybe we fight two wars in the next game? (A really long game like, The Witcher 3!) One war with the Kett then the next with Jardaan's enemies? The Kett seems to not care about the Jardaan's tech so, at least we know they are not connected. And they could come together in ME5.

Maybe the Jardaan are enemies with their own race? One side doesn't like that they created the Angara but the other side thinks it's important science?

Maybe the Geth made their own ark in private (if the game is in Andromeda)? It could work because it wouldn't need to be as big as the arks for organics. Geth do not use escape pods. Just a few physical Geth would be needed.

Either they made it before the Reaper war starts and followed the organics to Andromeda without them knowing. Just hoping for a future with them because they got that hope while teaming up with Shepard against the collectors.
Or they started on the ark after Legion gives them the upgrades and it sets out before Shepard picks an ending. Like I said, the ark doesn't need to be big so maybe they made it quickly and quietly. They don't need rest so I can really see this happening. (If we want them to not be affected by the endings.)

Like, how some choose to follow the Reapers in the first game while the rest refused. Maybe some Geth choose to give up on the Milky Way and try for Andromeda?

Or this fun theory I found on Reddit!

And this one from Twitter is fun too!

Sixth ark? Never mentioned in MEA. But it sounded official with them announcing it for the recording. So, I don't think it's shady maybe just a last minute rich person who wanted to go? Or higher ups who knew the Reapers were about to attack? Because the recording is before the war.

Or it could be backup for the benefactor. We know the benefactor is on the nexus because they kill Jien Garson. So, maybe the sixth ark is just their extra backup made to seem official? Geth? Maybe this benefactor is an A.I. in a body like Eva's (EDI's body) to appear human when Ryder and SAM scan the room Jien Garson was murdered in.

Maybe this benefactor has other A.I. who want to join it. And that's what is in the sixth ark? If so, this benefactor is so exciting! I feel like a big nerd right now, this is so fun!

I love that some people think the masked character could be the benefactor and that this year's teaser trailer takes place in Andromeda. It could be a flashback before they go to Andromeda because the benefactor does contact Alec when he was working on SAM.

Maybe the benefactor is human. Another cool villain like TIM but a woman? I like it. Plus, people are saying that the character in the teaser seems like a villain. Wont show their face in what could be a clear helmet. Because with Shepard's helmet, you could see their eyes.

I love the thought of a renegade hero being advertised than a paragon one again.

It seems the air is going to be toxic in Mass Effect 5.
From the old teaser picture:

Link
To this year's teaser trailer:

Characters wearing masks and helmets. The air looks thick in both the picture and video.

New Mass relay looks like a relay station. Has docks.

"Human defiance." We are seeing the new N7 character or "the villain" in the 2023 teaser looking at a private recording of Liara talking to the Geth? (You can see their arm with the red and white stripe reflection in the bottom left corner of the video. And the effect makes it look like a screen.) It's possible we aren't playing as this character but seeing what could be Liara's enemy.

And our player character will choose who to help? Like, how we got to choose to help Reyes or Slone. "The villain" might not be a main enemy but a smaller scale one. Have to deal with choosing who to team up with first before going after the bigger enemy? The bigger enemy later in that same game or in ME6.

But if it turns out that IS our player character then I'm so hyped to have our character have a set goal of spying on Liara. Like, how Shepard's set goal is military. They join the military no matter what you choose as a background. Maybe our background is a spy?

Liara could be talking to the Geth with Glyph's (her personal VI assistant) help. Maybe she knows how SAM was made? After the war she has all the time in the world to dive deep into A.I. research. My point is, she could have Glyph translating for her in an implant like the pathfinders use when talking to their SAMs.

Lady Insanity explains it better in her video.

I still feel like Liara walking on a dead Reaper and finding a N7 piece is just a random soldier's piece of armor. She smiles because it makes her think of Shepard. I just don't think she's looking for Shepard. Shepard's body wouldn't be in a snowy area. It would be in space, near or in the destroyed Citadel.

Maybe she's revisiting a dead Reaper to take one last look before leaving to Andromeda? To remember what they faced and fought for? Or old tech that is still useful? Clues to "the villain" that could be following Liara so, she's trying retrace "the villain's" steps?

I just don't think it's Shepard's because Shepard isn't the only one with N7 armor. Red, white and black are not really Shepard's colors. It's the N7 colors. That piece Liara picks up could be from any dead N7 soldier. She looks at it like it's a cool rock she found. Not like she's so happy to have finally found a clue towards Shepard's body. I feel like she would be more excited than how she was.

Feels like just a sweet moment for Liara to be reminded of Shepard.

The teaser photo that looks like a Geth's head is too big to actually be that. It must be a destroyed mass relay. Like, other fans have pointed out. There are Geth corpses in the dirt next to it through so the Mass Effect team knows what their doing by confusing fans with it's shape.

Dead Geth doesn't mean the next game will make destroy canon through, just like showing male Shepard doesn't mean male Shepard is canon. Geth were fighting along side everyone else so, Geth corpses can be a thing in any ending.

Maybe Liara and what seems to be her crew, (maybe the Krogan is Grunt?) are trying to find clues to the N7 masked character? Or she is just looking at an old war field from the Reaper war to reminisce before leaving to Andromeda?

I did a "No Commentary" playthough of Mass Effect Andromeda if you don't feel like playing it. Just sit back and accept the story. It's going to be apart of the next game. Let Shepard go. Andromeda is something new and it's about fresh starts with characters who didn't signup to be in a war but are forced into one.

I also have a "No Commentary" of the trilogy for the few of you who played MEA but haven't played the older games. Or would like to refresh on the story without replaying it.

Can't wait for Mass Effect 5 to do something new that both the trilogy and Andromeda hasn't done!

I don't want Andromeda to be a guilty pleasure

"Andromeda isn't perfect but..."
"Despite it's flaws..."

The trilogy has flaws and isn't perfect either. Just like every other game. If you like Mass Effect Andromeda just say that you like it without the "but."

If you don't like it then just say you don't. But don't delude yourself into thinking that the trilogy is perfect.

Here are some plot holes in the Mass Effect trilogy:

-Quarian faces being mysterious in a futuristic, advance tech series. No past videos or pictures? Really?

-Being told that there are only three Ardat-Yakshi in existence in ME2 but we find out there's a whole school of them in ME3.

-Was A.I. research illegal before or after the Quarians made the Geth? The trilogy can't make up it's mind on what came first.

-Shepard is never seen using biotics in cutscenes but Bioware does a good job with the Dragon Age series if your character is a mage or not. But for Shepard, they went cheap. Them using biotics would have made them win so many fights with certain characters without the help of their companions.

-All the companions still wear the same outfits they wore in ME2. Even Miranda and Jacob and they are supposed to be in hiding!

-A version of the Rachni queen lives no matter what you choose in the first game. It's a lazy way to do Grunt's quest in ME3.

-Only 2 out of 12 companions from ME2, will join your ship again. Some have good reasons but others are just lazily written reasons.

-Renegade is not balanced well in the first two games. It's just there to be a bully most times. While ME3 perfects it! It's there to be a hardass but not an asshole.

It's the "tough love" personality. Love where a Renegade Shepard cares about their friends but wont let it get in the way of winning the war. (I love that Garrus' character in the game is for him to always understand a Renegade Shepard.)

Again, a remake would've been better than a remaster. Going full renegade isn't fun in the first two games but going full renegade in ME3 is easy. It fits right into what a commander should be.

-There's not many black characters. Yes, this is a problem. MEA is better with showing different skin tones. In the novel, it explain that humans are a mixture of race by this point BUT it should still show darker skin tones anyway. Don't be lazy with this.

-There's no female versions of the other alien races other than Quarians. MEA fixes this problem! I loved seeing female Turians, Krogans and Salarians everywhere. Another reason I wanted a remake instead of a remaster. Would love to have seen female alien NPCs in the backgrounds, at the very least.

-There is no Geth or Leviathan shown joining the battle on earth. Not even Aria's pirates are shown in the final battle. Players know all our allies are there fighting but it would've been nice to see it.

All the allies you made in MEA show up for the final battle. It made the "point of no return" more satisfying hearing all the allies come help distract the enemies so that my small team can slip through to the main boss. I really wish that same feeling was in ME3.

-Ashley and Miranda are sexualized characters for no reason. (For male players, obviously but you know what I mean.)
The creators "tried" to give a reason for Miranda's looks with her being the "perfect" human. And even has a character point out her outfit during her personal quest but it still doesn't cut it as necessary to her character. She's in a professional setting most of the time. Makes no sense unless it's in the DLC where everyone is on shore leave and she wears a dress.

Characters can look and act sexy, just put in the work to make it make sense. There needs to be a "right place, right time."

-And lastly, EDI knows everything that goes on around the ship so, why isn't there a conversation with her if you choose to sabotage the cure? Only Garrus talks to you about it.

I would love to see someone who played Mass Effect Andromeda first then played the trilogy, utter the words, "Despites the trilogy's flaws, I really enjoyed it."

You don't need to add that unless you're talking about a broken game. Like, the first year Cyberpunk 2077 came out. The statement, "despite it's flaws, I really enjoyed it" would THEN make sense. MEA wasn't broken just because people didn't like the new character designs.

Fallout 4 had so many glitches and bugs and people still loved it. But when MEA has them, it's broken? All open world games will always have glitches. Which is why I really hope ME5 isn't open world! (And DA4!)

It's okay to express you love a game without trying to make the haters tolerate your statement.

Anyway, this is the first series that I've kept up with seeing it's development and waiting for clues on it's story. But once we get a full trailer, I will not watch it. I will bookmark it to watch after I played the game but not before. And yes, it will be hard to not look at it but I know I can do it!

I don't like spoiling myself on stories if I know I'm going to buy it anyway. I love discovering what the story is going to be about in games, movies and shows by letting it tell me. Instead of a trailer showing me all the best parts.

The Last Of Us 2 and Cyberpunk 2077's trailers completely spoil character deaths. I'm so glad I don't watch trailers before playing games. All I need is a summary of the story to know if I'm interested in that world.

And I want the Mass Effect team to know that if ME5's story has nothing I listed then I'll still be happy with getting the game. I have faith that the people working on it will treat the story right, no matter what. It's fun to be picky while we can but Shepard or no Shepard, Andromeda or no Andromeda, I'm excited!

Aftershow for The Valleycast - Planning Our Ocean's Eleven

I love singing along to the intro song.

3:05 They show the image of the man with a "PT" on his tummy. It's funny how disturbed they are thinking about his life.

It feels great seeing Elliott laugh because he just seems like the one to hold in his laugh the most or just wont find things that funny like the others do. So, when he laughs hard, it feels like it would be an ego boost to whoever got him to do that.

In the past, other fans have pointed this out too.
Elliott's laugh makes the fans happy.

19:05 They change the subject out of disgust to Steve's time in Vegas.

I've only been once, in the late 90s.
My dad was a truck driver and had to stop there or stop by there and we stayed the night. I remember it being so pretty with lights. I don't remember it being gross and dirty looking, as Steve describes it. But I was a child so I only remember the lights making the city look beautiful and exciting.

I would like to go back but I also love that my clearest memory of Vegas is it being pretty and bright at night. I don't know if I want to ruin that by going back.
Plus, I don't plan on gambling so there's no point.

38:51 I'm kinda shocked that Elliott hasn't taken Steve around the gambling tables and shown him how to play. If they don't vlog it, (most likely wont) I would love to hear them talk about it on an episode.

I love how happy Elliott is by thinking about taking Steve and Kevin gambling.

They joke about The Valleyfolk ending in Vegas and that makes me sad.
It's only a joke.
It's only a joke.
It's only a joke!

49:20 Steve's going to visit his family early for Christmas so he doesn't have to be around kids too much.

Steve and Elliott admit that they are different when around family. They say they are more quiet around them. And same! I have to hold back my language and humor when I talk to my family. It's frustrating when all they want to watch is family friendly movies and shows.

51:36 Steve talks about movies

54:15 A sweet thing Elliott's parents did.

56:54 Steve does Hollywood news again! I love that bit, I don't know why the others don't find it funny. Come on! Lighten up!

Kevin thought Stranger Things was over. Even though it ended on a cliffhanger...

Anyway, I can't wait to see Hopper's character again. When he smiles for the first time in a long time, it got me in the feels. And I hardly get emotional watching Stranger Things. He's such a good actor. I love that he has to look at her face again to make sure it's real.

I'm also hoping for a lot of character deaths. The sadder the story, the better. I'm not a fan of the comedy in Stranger Things.

I enjoyed this Valleyfolk episode a lot ๐Ÿงก

Aftershow for The Broski Report - Exchanging my Brain at the Brain Store

Link

I enjoyed this episode so much! And I was super excited this week because it's the first time I'm starting this "aftershow" blog series!

3:35 She compares herself to a raccoon.

5:25 She compares her life to Wall-E

12:40 She starts talking about the music she's into this week.
I don't care about diving this deep into music but I like seeing her nerd out and show off her passion for music. That is me but with video game stories and horror movies.

And then later she talks about a musician who might be sexist based off his vibe in interviews. I like how carefree she is about sharing art she loves while not loving the artists. I find it hard to separate the art from the artist but I CAN sometimes do it. And I think most people can but wont admit it.

It's very complicated when a piece of art moves you but you also don't want to promote it because of who created it. I wish fans wouldn't shame Brittany for talking about problematic artists. I think it's also important to let people know who might be toxic because not everyone watches interviews. I don't.
(The only interviews I've watched were ones with Keanu Reeves. I had to know what type of person he was after I developed a crush on him after playing Cyberpunk 2077. I hardly ever get crushes on real people, only fictional characters!)

So, it's tricky sometimes when defining what is promoting an asshole artist and what is spreading awareness about them being an asshole. It's up to each of us to choose to believe if Brittany (or anyone) has good intentions and is self-aware when talking about art or not.

I believe she has a good heart and good judgment so I'll continue to love her until I feel otherwise.

37:10 She talks about her experience speaking Spanish. I love that she later mentions the hypocrisy of when White people speak two languages vs when POC speak two languages.

Also, a very good reason for me to make this "aftershow" of The Broski Report is because I instantly got annoyed seeing, in the subreddit, fans complain about her sharing "the songs of the week" for most of this episode. I'm frustrated that some of her fans can't appreciate the joy and happiness that is radiating from Brittany when she talks about music. I don't need to be into the same music to understand her obsession, just listening to others talk about their interests is fun for me.

I will hate on a movie but see my favorite "reaction channels" watch that movie and I'll love seeing them love the movie I hate. All they HAVE to do, is be entertaining.

If you don't find Brittany fun to watch when she's so fucking happy then keep skipping the music talk and deal with a shorter episode.

At least here, I can rant or praise Brittany in peace without bugging too many people or being downvoted until my comment is hidden. (For now...)

Aftershow for Dynamic Banter - Huge Grant Ep. 392

This episode is a banger, so fucking funny!

26:17 That was hot. All men should do a Channing Tatum "impression" on camera at least once.

31:40 Mike's dad calls and it's great!

38:48 Kevin interrupts Mike just to say, "Keep reading! It's pretty funny!" Even though they were definitely going to keep reading anyhow. But now we wont ever know what Mike was going to say in that moment that could've turned into a fun tangent.

So many funny bits from the boys thanks to the article.

58:05 History Road starts and I love this one. I think long emails are superior to the short ones. After relistening to DB, I really miss when fans would write in made up funny and weird stories. And I miss the fanfictions that Talkin' Banter would get. Please being those back!

Also, Kevin makes up for killing Mike's tangent by telling Steve to make the computer pronounce the fan's name and it turned into a new soundboard clip! (Hopefully)

And the episode abruptly ends with Steve saying, "The answer is Hope." ๐Ÿ‘Œ

I like the new game but it's kinda not that exciting anymore now that they do it at the very end of an hour long episode. There's nothing to lose really since we already got over fifty minutes of the episode.
It would be exciting again if we got no more emails until they finish that game. It would also be a good way to promote the Patreon if they did more history roads that couldn't be read on the free episode because they haven't finished the game yet. I would love it. I want the gambling game to feel exciting like it was the first two times.

But I know that's just me. Other fans wont want shorter episodes but that's why they should get the Patreon for a month (and marathon all their content). It's only $5.

That's all I have to add on this episode. I enjoyed making this blog post, I think this is better than leaving a comment because I want to make my comments short so it's not skipped over. But sometimes just posting a comment isn't enough to show a satisfying version of my thoughts. I might not blog about every episode if I don't have much more to say other than, "It's funny!"

Also, even if they never see this, writing this all out feels nice!

Relistening to The EZU podcasts

I don't have a cat but the vibe in this gif is exactly how I feel and look like right now watching and relistening to Steve Zaragoza's podcasts with his friends. Just drinking tea or coffee with a sweet snack while I browse old subreddits of The EZU that I missed while binge listening to Cloverfeels, DB, Talkin' Banter, First Time Show and the Sourcefed podcast. Even Steve's vlogs.

I'm mostly a lurker fan to most content creators I love so I miss out on their communities socializing with each other and I'm kicking myself for not being more online at the time because back then, Steve read everything. But now, he's too busy and can't.

I wish I wrote in emails to If Feels Like The First Time, and told them how I related to Owen most of the time during that rewatch. I wish I had sent them something to their P.O. box. But I just enjoyed anonymously, just a number that clicked on their podcast.

I wish I had done something to be more than a number.

Then I came across Owlbynight's blog. It's amazing. He put into words exactly how I felt when I discovered Steve Zaragoza on SourceFed. I was watching videos only with Steve in them for a very long time as well. I became fans of the other hosts later but Steve was the funniest person to me.

Also, I really connected with Steve on being a Mexican who doesn't speak Spanish. It seems like a silly thing to connect on but it was a big deal for me. Any friend I made who also doesn't know Spanish, isn't Mexican so it's not that embarrassing for them like it is for me.

I got so angry for Steve when I read the comments on the video where he eats Mexican candy with Will. I thought the video was so funny! I don't know why I had to ruin the joy by looking at the comments. Everything they said about Steve is what was said to me from family and kids at school. I got so heated I had to turn my computer off.

Anyway, I also related to Owlbynight's blog when he explains that it feels comfy behind a screen. Not going out much and not showing his face to the public.

I take a pic of myself maybe three times a year and it's not for online. It's just for my photo album and scrapbook. And I go out shopping once a month. I do miss going out and hanging out with friends when I lived in Phoenix but I've found out that I can live without that.

I love how it feels like my husband and I are in our own little world sometimes. I live in West Virginia now and I LOVE it here. So much more quieter and safer.

I also like how self-aware Owlbynight is about not coming off as a creepy fan because I also do not want to come off creepy when I upload clips of Steve on my channel. I don't monetize anything, they are unlisted so I can link them to this blog from time to time. (And it's from his Twitch streams, those VODs don't last forever there. I wish he would archive them to The Valleyfolk Youtube channel, in a playlist.)

It's the only bit of creativity I have. Steve and his friends do all the work while I just sit back, enjoy their personality and sometimes save clips.

I loved all the class clowns in my school growing up. Every single time. They made classes fun! I was only lucky enough to become friends with one of them and her name was Aileen. I lost touch with her after going to different high schools in 2004.

I wonder if she remembers me.
Most likely not. We weren't best friends but she was my funniest friend I've ever had.
I wonder if she's a content creator. I can't remember her last name so I'll never know.

I would've loved to have kept in touch with her and have her be the Steve in my life instead of me forming this parasocial relationship with him. I'm good at staying self-aware though because I don't send in emails or comments. And I don't tweet at him too much (I think I @ him like 4 times a year) but I feel the parasocial-ness forming whenever I listen to anything he's in and I talk out loud as if he can hear me. That made me feel kinda crazy until I seen that others talk to themselves too when they listen to podcasts.

I love that about Tiktok, finding people who relate to my experiences so I don't feel crazy alone.

I'm so jealous of Jesse for getting into Steve's friend group. That's really awesome because Steve seems like a person that would be a friend for life.

So, good for you, Jesse! I loved reading your blog explaining what it's like being a fan, I also feel this way with Steve AND another creator named Brittany Broski, I discovered her a year ago and I'll talk about her later.

(I don't know if I should link your blog because I feel kinda creepy that I found it. I was looking for your aftershow of DB's aftershow because Brett and Owen talk about you and I found the blog that way.)

I think if I ever got to meet Steve and play Fortnite with him, I still wouldn't become friends with him because I'm just not funny on his level. We wouldn't click and that's okay. I'm happy with just remaining a fan.

Maybe we would bond over talking about horror movies, I can nerd out forever on horror but that's not enough to become friends with someone. I love that I can nerd out with my husband and best friend and I can make them laugh, that's more than enough for me.

I've been seeing people say online that they don't have the energy to have too many friends and I kinda get it. So, even if I got to game with Steve, I would make sure not to get too close because what's the point? I wont have enough energy to hangout with him. It would be so rare, he would forget my name.

Another reason I don't see myself ever being in Steve's friend group is because I'm going to share my pet peeves and nitpicks about people in the EZU. And that's not a good thing to do when you want a possible friendship with someone.

I want to be real and I'm annoyed EZU fans aren't ranting about the things I want to rant about without it being hate. Like the people who stopped being fans of Steve just because he's not friends with Lee anymore and they leave negative comments anytime the Valleycast posts a video.

I don't want to come off as those haters with my complaints of the EZU. If the things I hate keep happening, I'll still be a fan of the EZU. It's just nitpicks not a dealbreaker.

It's like how Owen says that he HATES it when podcasters and commentaries start out by telling listeners to go watch a movie first before listening to that episode. Or when they apologized for how they sound because they have a little cold. BUT he still keeps listening. He has his nitpicks but it's not a dealbreaker. It's just something we roll our eyes at when it happens.

Complaining and sharing our nitpicks just feels so good. It's a release. So, that's what I'm going to do with the podcasts I love later in this post.

Anyway, another fan started a Talkin' Banter again but they only did 8 episodes.

That just shows that fans really loved the aftershow and I'm bummed it stopped. I understand not doing it every week but never?!

I thought it was so cute how Brett started Talkin' Banter because he was a fan of Mike and Steve's podcast and wanted to show it. Plus, he said Mike gave him that idea and Owen wanted to join. It's so cute thinking about how excited they were thinking up that podcast only for it to start to feel like a chore.

I wish they wouldn't have recorded every week. Only when they could add more to the conversation. Not every episode is a banger anyways. Keeping up with each episode finally got to them. Owen said that It Feels Like The First Time podcast started to feel like a job and didn't want to be on any other podcast for a long time. It didn't have to be like that.

I wish they were open to pausing Talkin' Banter until First Time Show was done. So, they can go back to having fun with recording and talking about their friends again. Instead of just canceling it completely.

I miss you, Brett and Owen! I hate thinking too much into that rude email that someone sent in and that was the last episode Owen was on.

I liked when a fan sent a email because they related to Owen that they also never sent in anything before and got inspired by Owen to finally do it. And that made Owen feel like emailing a podcast he liked. I wonder if he did...

Fans loved Talkin' Banter because it was extra moments to nerd out to about Dynamic Banter and fans get a little more inside information on Steve and Mike from their good friends.

Anyone who is a friend of Steve are instantly interesting. I wish Owen would understand that. When he went on DB last year, I got annoyed with him when he said only a small group of people listened to First Time Show. Who cares about numbers when fans are being VERY interactive with a show. They sent in music, funny audio edits, emails, tweets, pictures, videos and gifts, to show how much the podcast means to them. It was a funny, nerdy podcast. I even loved the movie episodes. They were fun to listen to. I think everyone overreacts by saying the movie episodes were bad. They weren't. It was fun watching bad movies and laughing at them.

I wish they still had a PO box because I bet they would still get gifts. Fans relisten to the podcast every year.

And the Valleycast is still really fun to listen to. Joe and Elliott are fucking funny! I wish they didn't give up on it. I comment from time to time to show support but it feels like no one is reading it.

There are even people posting a little here and there about them on the subreddit. We want to be supportive but it's hard when the boys wont be active enough with fans about the topics of the Valleycast. They can still grow! It's never too late. They could even start focusing on Twitch. Their gaming streams were so fun to watch. Not many comedians are on Twitch. They could be that unique channel people find.

I'm so angry with Lee because they all could've gone their separate ways calmly but her posting second gave her the power. That's all I'll say.

There was drama with Brittany Broski as well. I found her on the podcast, Violating Community Guidelines. She was doing a podcast with her roommate, Sarah Schauer and they were fucking funny together like how Lee is fucking funny with the boys. But something clearly happened between Brittany and Sarah because suddenly they made a post on Youtube saying that the last video was their last podcast episode and thanking the fans for watching.

It was sad and shocking. At first we all thought it was the company dropping them but once we noticed that they weren't filming together anymore (like in Tiktoks, personal Youtube channels and Instagram stories) we started to learn that they weren't getting along but their friendship wasn't completely over, because they still follow each other.

They still have not said anything about one another and Sarah has continued to work with the podcasting company that was doing VCG but it's a different podcast name. And she has a new host with her.

Brittany made a solo podcast and it's my favorite podcast at the moment.

I know. I know. Fans of the EZU are reading this and thinking, "How the fuck can you say DB isn't your favorite podcast?!"

Sorry but Brittany is that funny. I really want her and Steve to meet someday! She would fit right into his friend group. And Steve has complained about how there aren't enough women in the EZU. Well, here's one that should be added

Plus, me being a woman, I just instantly related to her nerdy fangirl side. I don't fangirl about the same things she does BUT I understand exactly when she explains how it is to be a fan.

(Women get hate for not talking about important stuff but men can talk about farts and be left alone.)

She reads fanfiction about whatever she's obsessed with and she loves ASMR. That's not something Steve ever talks about doing or understanding. I can see myself being friends with Brittany.

I couldn't keep up with her comedy or anything but I can talk to her about fangirl shit that Steve wouldn't be into. (He has talked about ASMR with Mike and they both didn't get it. They thought it was sexual, which it isn't. ASMR helps people relax and sleep. Some can be sexual but not all. It reminded me of how people who don't like anime, think all anime is porn.)

I wish Steve would do a podcast solo or vlog alone again! His vlogs are great.
I love hearing Brittany talk without another host there to interrupt her or disagree with her. And she goes off topic and it's funny to see her try to get back on it. But that wouldn't happen as much if she had someone else there with her.

Steve, please just do more vlogs about movies since you thought the podcast was bad when you did them with friends. I just want to hear you nerd out about movies again!

Anyway, Brittany moved out and lives alone now and didn't say why. But I respect it. I'm so grateful that Brittany and Sarah aren't allowing fans to join in on their private drama. That's their business and fans shouldn't feel the need to choose sides. Trisha Hershberger didn't choose either. She said on her stream that she is still friends with all four of them and loves them all. Lee should've let the fans have that too.

Brittany and Sarah seem to want to stay friends because they still follow each other, like I said, so it just seems like they are angry with one another and that's it.

It's happen to all of us. We fight with friends and it either becomes a big fight and ends it or a big fight that turns it awkward for a while as it slowly heals. So, let it happen to creators with big followings in peace.

Jesse, if you're reading, I recommend you check Brittany out.

Her and Steve's weird humor makes them feel like the same person but different genders. She's such a good hearted person and shares the issues women have to deal with. Some are obvious issues while others aren't.

I remember on one of Steve's streams, he was talkin to Anna and he was saying that being on Twitch can be annoying when people backseat game but it's not too bad and Anna stopped him and said, "Sorry Steve but try saying that after being a woman streaming." Or something like that and he backtracked and said she was right. He just wasn't thinking about that and it's understandable. I think that's why it's so awesome to have found someone like Brittany who is so fucking funny and is sharing what she goes through as a woman. And as a woman who isn't skinny.

In the past, Steve has talked about his weight being something that bothers him too.

Plus, both of them have made some mistakes that pissed off fans but they always show that they are willing to learn. I felt creeped out when Steve dated a fan who was 23 while he was 39 but she is an adult. I just didn't expect him to date girls that young. I think that's another reason why I want to stay a fan and not become his friend. I can have that disconnect where I'm just here for the laughs not his lifestyle choices.

But he didn't do anything wrong. At all. She just shared drama of her being rejected by him because she's immature. She only got attention because Steve is famous. If another 39 year old man slept with her but didn't want to date, she wouldn't be so public about it.

And Brittany's mistake was her saying that big creators need to speak out on big issues while she didn't want to speak on Palestine herself (but she eventually did.)

(I left this comment on Reddit but it's very long so here's the last part of what I said.)

I just strongly believe they both are good hearted nerds who just want to make content that brings people joy. And they both have a good quick "yes and" improv type humor and I think if they met each other it would be magic.

I loved that Owen calls Steve a comedic genius in one of the Talkin' Banters, I thought it was cute hearing how much he loves his friend's humor.

When Brett asks why Owen doesn't want to talk on the mic on DB, Owen says that he isn't funny. It's not his skill. He says DB wouldn't be the same show if he replaced Mike for an episode.

Years later that is proven wrong though. Steve can carry the humor for any show he's on. The EZU fans love Owen and it sucks he doesn't seem understand that.

Now for the nitpicks:

1. I hate when Steve talks about not making any money on It Feels Like The First Time. (He mentions it in the DB episode where Owen finally is a guest. Steve says it other times but I didn't keep track.) I wish Steve would just fully treat The First Time Show as a hobby. It doesn't need a schedule even if he was rewatching a TV show.

Just record after everyone who's going to be on the podcast has finished watching the episodes.
It can be weekly or monthly. It doesn't need to be stressful or strict.

It also doesn't need sponsors. Make it a Patreon exclusive for DB or something.
It also doesn't need to be a video. Keep it a audio only podcast if that's easier.
Also, fuck the format. If it's hard to find someone who hates it, who cares! Fans just want Steve to nerd out about shows and movies with his friends. The main reason Steve was being strict with this rule is because he wanted his podcast to stick out from the other nerdy podcasts. But the fact that he is on the podcast already makes it different from the rest!

I wish Steve knew he can carry shows by himself. His streams are proof of that. He's always so entertaining to watch, even when he's just playing a chill game.

So, it really makes me sad that one day The Valleycast will stop if they mainly care about money even though I feel like the Patreon numbers they have is enough to at least keep it going and to try involving the fans more. Ask fans to leave comments or emails and then read those comments on the next episode. That's all it takes. I hate how they really wont be happy with it just being a fun hangout that is being record and remembered.

(Me defending them from a hater lol)

2. When Kevin had to replace Mike, he said that he never wants to be on mic ever again even though he can keep up with Steve's humor. I just don't understand why he will put his foot down on being a guest but he's fine with talking in the background every episode? Is it because it was funny when Owen did it?

Owen only wanted to be off mic so he wasn't forced to stay. He wanted the freedom to leave the room anytime he wanted. Kevin never leaves the room so??

It's a weird rule Kevin gave himself: "I don't want to talk on mic with you, Steve. So, find someone else but I will talk off mic with you."

(Please don't act like this is hate. I'll always keep watching DB no matter what. The show is different now, it happens. It's okay!

I love a lot of other shit that I have nitpicks for. Still love them through.

I would never leave a comment or message like this to them. "Hey I don't like this about your podcast, change it!" I've never sent anyone an angry email. People who do that need to just make a blog, call a friend, get a journal, make their own podcast and rant there.)

3. (This is about Brittany Broski) I don't like that she keeps saying millennials are cringe when she really means White millennials. Everything she makes fun of them for doing, I don't know anyone in my life that does that but white people I see online.

Very interesting that she doesn't point out that the only reason she finds them cringe is because they aren't using AAVE

4. I love Brittany but I don't love her fans. They are cringy to me. I know they are just playing around when they act serious about her being their supreme leader but it's too much. It takes over the comments in her Youtube videos.

Steve's fans can be too much as well but it's rare. I usually find them funny when I scroll down and read DB comments, old Valleyfolk and SourceFedNerd comments. Even when they comment while he's streaming.

Her being a supreme leader is funny when the joke is coming from her though.

Maybe I'm being too bitchy with number 4 through....

That's all I mainly wanted to rant about. Ranting on here isn't forcing anyone to read this vs if I left a comment under the videos or Reddit.

I just want to end on saying, I'm so happy to have found these funny people and I can't imagine finding anyone else funnier than Steve Zaragoza and Brittany Broski.
