The Last Of Us Part 2: Link to my thoughts. I wanted to love it. It's a 5 out of 5 game that I hated. I know it's good but... I try to talk through my conflicting feelings in that link.
3:49 I'll never understand relationships like that. It shouldn't be that serous. But if you and her have come to this understanding and agreed to it then stop complaining about it, Stee. Only complain if you didn't agree to it but she still expects you to.
If you didn't agree to it and you wouldn't give a shit if she watched without you then she sounds controlling.
(Mass Effect is my Star Wars) Joe asking if I would be upset with a full remake of the games vs making new games: No, I would not be upset with that. I would love a remake because there's no female versions of most aliens. Mass Effect: Andromeda did it better.
And I would love to see one of the female companions not look like a supermodel in the third game. Just make her seem like a matured version from the first two games!
And make the characters from the second game wear different outfits in the third game! I love Mass Effect with all my heart but I'm not blinded to the problems and plot holes it has. ME:A did a lot of things better than the trilogy.
I don't want the new game to bring Shepard back. Let their story rest in the trilogy and remain a legend, please.
Knowing Things Ruins Everything
I actually want to read that book. It's a refreshing way to study the Bible. I have faith but I don't trust the Bible being God's words because come on. It's man made. But I still read it and try to understand it with skepticism but I'm frustrated that I can't share my true thoughts with my mom. She would freak out if I told her that and I don't care to get into that drama if I don't fucking have to.
I love my husband. I can be open about it and we agree that God knows my heart and intentions and that is no one else's business. Others don't have to understand how or why I believe in God while questioning things about them.
And I like relating to other people about this:
If you want to dig into ball of lighting theories, you boys should reach out to Let's Get Haunted.
Yeah, I hate how people are making A.I. videos for conspiracy shit. So many conspiracy groups and cults are getting stronger because of A.I. videos making their theories seem like facts.
If it's harmless, believe whatever the fuck you want. But if a conspiracy is just a hidden anti-feminist group, I hope people use their brain and leave the group instead of being in denial.
Nat and Aly would also love to talk about sleep paralysis demons with you guys!
I was working out during this episode so I hardly have anything to add but I did enjoy hearing the whole thing. Every time something funny happened, I was just too lazy to stop working out, timestamp it and add my thoughts.
WHO WILL WIN?! (Final Destination vs. Mission: Impossible vs. Lilo & Stitch)
I'm happy Anna Lore is in a popular movie so she's going to make more stuff but I don't like any of the Final Destination movies. They are for people who love the Scream movies or slashers--even though Final Destination isn't a slasher, it gives off that style.
They are fun-turn-your-brain-off movies and I don't like those type of movies. It's rare when I do. I do like fun-turn-your-brain-off videogames though! Games are where I can enjoy a cheap, cheesy, campy script.
13:21 It was exciting sneaking snacks in with my cousins, when I was in high school.
44:14 How is that weird? You men have confessed to wanting to fuck a chipmunk or some rat from an old cartoon (I've never seen it and forgot the name), Lola Bunny and that bitch from A Goofy Movie! You guys see attractive animal characters just like the women do. Don't lie.
I'm not a furry but I understand it because I'm into robot and car characters:
I kinda agree that being a night-owl is about being able to enjoy the things we love without being bugged by others. But I love being up during the day too, I just know how to ignore my messages because I'm not glued to my tablet (I don't have a smartphone) like other people are.
I understand what it's like to be addicted to the phone but I haven't been since high school.
You peeing in the river is nasty and funny, Brittany.
39:50 That's so awkward and funny because I understand enjoying videos like that. I used to watch crafty/kawaii channels eat candy from Japan. My favorite was The Hollycopter. (Who I still follow because I love her. She's just herself. She doesn't post for views. It's so hard finding people who use Youtube as a hobby and not a paycheck.)
Also, she's a fan of Brittany!
Again, I recommend Malissa for perfumes (and books). She goes into detail with the scents.
This is the first time I have ever gotten secondhand embarrassment from watching Brittany. Hearing her talk in an British accent for that long was something....
The long bits she would do in the past--with an accent was fine but this is so obviously her being proud of her British accent that it came off embarrassing but also cute because she was fangirling about it, in a way like, when a little kid wants to show you a "cool" trick. It's not cool at all but you just smile and clap because the kid is so happy about it....it's called being polite! It's easy to do!
I've seen in the comments that others also don't like her British accent but they are assholes for saying it where she can read it. They HAVE to add that they couldn't finish the episode and are "so sad!" You people really love playing the victims for the dumbest shit.
Is it that hard to get a blog or journal?! Why do you all NEED Brittany to see what you hate about her? Getting a blog is free if you can't afford a journal.
People like ya'll are the reason Brittany will one day stop sharing herself online.
It's rare to find someone with a big following who is just themselves. But when they do that, we see that they aren't perfect princesses; they have annoying things about them. So, you bitches just loudly and publicly nitpick the fuck out of them until they stop being themselves on camera. Until they only show the good stuff to seem perfect or mysterious.
And the people that give those comments a thumbs up are just as bad.
Even though I didn't like her talking long like that, I hope she does it again just to piss off those entitled fans who think she needs to make content only according to their fuckin' tastes.
Like what Brittany said in the past; the art is for the artist. Accept it.
(Besides I got used to it after 8 minutes so if she does it again, I'll be fine. You all couldn't handle being her friend.)
I hate this stupid; "I'm so sad I can't enjoy something Brittany loves." Grow up and keep that to yourself. You all are shallow and really wouldn't be in her friend group for long:
"Is this a safe space to talk about not liking her music?" Fuck off. You all are talking out of your asses.
It's like giving notes to pop singers; telling them their voices are better suited for metal music or telling rock singers that their voices are better for country music. All music is influenced by other music. Did you expect Brittany to invent a new sound??
51:55 I love that she says her real thoughts out loud. How many other women would admit these embarrassing things? Others would say it as a bit but Brittany means it; she really would've enjoyed it more if they were playing that soundtrack!
(She should replace Mike on Dynamic Banter. Her and Steve would be a dream team podcast.)
2:04 I feel like screaming Corey Taylor's name just like that because maybe he'll hear me.
I loved her Dunkin' ad read.
27:32 Fuck yeah! I'm happy good things are happening to her left and right!
I love that she explains the inspiration and respect that she put into her Royal Court show. She's honest with how she thought of her show while others wouldn't say shit and just act like it's an original thought that came into their heads.
Brittany isn't a snake like the haters think she is.
So, she wants a gay, cowboy boyfriend but hates westerns? I get it! It's like how I don't like Sailor Moon but I buy the merch for the pink, girly aesthetic.
I think it's cool how our crushes lead us into checking out things that we never would've experienced if not for our interest in someone. Like, how me checking out different bands that Corey Taylor likes. And reading what he said are his favorite Stephen King books. Or me checking out games my husband loved playing as a kid.
Even if it turns out we didn't like some of those things at least we looked in an area we never would've if not for our obsessions not pointing them out. It's fun feeling connected to that person while we are reading, watching, listening or playing the thing our favorite people loved.
Corey Taylor acted in two movies, and I had to skip anytime he wasn't on camera. Those were B-rated movies and I hate movies that are shitty on purpose.
Aw! I wish she didn't skip all those questions! It was fun seeing her being nerdy! It's the closest thing to seeing her playing a videogame or playing D&D!
Trying to Brain the Upcoming Live-Action Legend of Zelda Film!
3:30 Yeah, I hate that it means nothing to you but at least now I don't have to feel bad skipping them. I started doing that as soon as you and Mike got a Patreon. And it was perfect timing because that's when the ad reads started to become boring. And the fans told you it was but you and Mike responded saying that if we really love your podcast then we should be okay with you two reading the ads more normal so you two can get paid.
And we said sure then don't mind us skipping the boring ads. Change up the podcast however you want but don't expect fans to stick to a routine if they don't like a change.
Nat and Aly also love when fans make merch of their podcast to sell on their own. They see it as free advertisement and exposure for their podcast and they encourage fans to do more of it. They share posts online shops of LGH merch by fans.
And they really love when fans don't skip their ads and say it means a lot to them. Their community feels more worth being in because Nat and Aly show how much they love their fans.
They don't keep saying shit like: "Use our code or your emails of love mean nothing to me!" "The fans that don't join Patreon are cheap--haha just kidding!" "First time show was fun but no one listened! It made no money!"
Steve and Mike are like:
LGH make their Patreon worth paying for because they give a lot of extra content (from the start,by the way) and insider gossip AND they are active in the group chat. It's worth $10 a month!
I love you Steve, that's why your words hurt sometimes.
I'm never paying for a streaming service again. Get a library card and use kanopy (or library apps and DVDs). Or search for links online. Fuck streaming services now.
18:39 I wish Mike would change the subject like that when he doesn't want to talk about something than to bitch about Steve's topic until Steve agrees with him. Be like Joe and Elliott!
They should make Link a woman in the movie, to piss off sensitive people. She has to save the princess!
Link not talking in the movie could work, it's just up to the writers to not be lazy about it. Like in the movie, No One Will Save You. I think they did a good job with no dialogue. Just make Link actually a mute who needs to use sign language or write down this longer responses. Like a character in The Stand by Stephen King. I loved that character and the story made him fit right in.
But also, it is the videogames' fault for continuing to not give Link a voice actor. He talks in the comics and old animations. And he talks in the games because the characters respond to him as if he is talking back to them. So, Link isn't actually a mute, the videogames are just too lazy and cheap to hire a voice actor and a writer for his dialogue.
Give Link a voice in the next game, you cowards. And make Link's soul reincarnate into a woman's body!
29:14 Cowardly jump cut edit. Just leave the extra 10 seconds in of Steve being confused and needing it explained.
Joe and Elliott vs. CHORSE?!
I'm sad I missed Elliott opening in Phoenix! I'll be there in August-October and I hope he does another show while I'm there.
I hate starting on chores but once I start I'm into it. I listen to audiobooks while I clean.
This episode about an every day topic is what Rooster Teeth podcasts all turned into... Only they weren't funny. They made content that their stalkers and crazy, obsessive fans loved.
Always Open and The Patch were the only podcasts that stayed interesting because they had a theme.
Always Open was about sex and The Patch was about videogames. The other podcasts were just labeled as "comedy" or "shooting the shit" ZZZzzz... (If you say your show is comedy and all you do is "shoot the shit" you better be fuckin' funny to back up that lazy description.)
Joe and Elliott throw in fun jokes with their talk because they know they are recording content!
Thank you for caring about making the conversation fun, boys.
34:42 I know you two might feel like it's a boring episode, it's not but it's good that ya'll show that you care if it is. It's a lot more than what RT showed. Those men had really big heads and I think there are more Ryan Haywoods among them but were better at hiding the proof.
He was living a "rock star" life and it's hard to believe that the other men weren't also fucking their fans.
39:07 Some Jack Black love! Thank goodness Steve isn't on this episode to act like Jack Black isn't that great.
42:02 I'm happy you two like him. Especially Joe--hell yeah!
Steve on 12 YEARS of Creating Content (ft. Ryan Farroki!)
2:47 100%. Any fan who has a real problem with that can go listen to a different podcast. Please don't stop talking about hard subjects if it leads to you guys stop doing this podcast. No matter how annoyed or frustrated I get with a topic or one of your opinions, I overall, still love you boys.
Fans that don't know how to deal with their own hurt feelings of something you boys said can fuck off.
They should get a journal or make a blog! Don't comment and message the boys negative shit.
Whyyyyy do you have to do so many jump cuts? I wana know the whole conversation! Wahhh....
21:13 This jump cut where we don't even see who won the vote is a dead giveaway that Ryan most likely said a lot weren't that funny. Steve thought it was too mean and choose to edit it out BUT he shouldn't have! Leave it in!
23:10 Because he's not wrong--Oh, wait a minute--he's not that funny either....24:24
The jump cuts suuuuuck, Steve!
I wish Ryan was a bit louder but other than that, I loved him as a guest.
4:36 Yeah, it sucks that Alana ruined Steve from wanting to share his girlfriend with the EZU. How Alana dumped Steve was fucked up. And she's acting like it's fine and she's a nice, girly pop, wise woman who can give advice on life. She's fucked up for not being more sorry about leaving Steve like that.
Don't brake up with him over text, girl! And while you were in another state!! Damn.
But it's not fair to treat the girlfriend you have now like she can turn out to be a disappointment at any moment, Steve. You should bring her on the podcast if she's a good entertainer. Don't let Alana ruin sharing the EZU with your girlfriend. Think of Bree instead of Alana when introducing her to the community.
Really? Steve's girlfriend doesn't know about Chat GPT?
I used it as therapy but only for setting a goal to get on a path to make me feel better. Because I can't afford a therapist. "Oh, we can do payments." Fuck you. I'm saying I can't afford payments either. Therapy shouldn't be so fuckin' much and should be more than an hour of a session.
Also, Chat GPT can help any time, any day and way over an hour. Or less than 10 minutes.
Therapy should be free and available 24/7. (maybe two therapist per person? I don't know but that needs to happen or A.I. will win for poor people. Every time.)
The two times I've used it were when I had a pain in my chest that was deep but not sharp and I had just experienced somewhat of a life change BUT I wanted to make sure I wasn't sick. I didn't want to just write it off as stress.
I explained how my chest hurt and gave it my age and other stuff doctors would ask. I didn't tell it my life story or whatever. I didn't want it to grab on that it was just stress. But after marking off things it could be, (after telling me to go see a doctor to make sure) it asked me if anything big happened lately that could've made me nervous or excited without me giving it a clue that it could be stress.
That's when it was talking me though my feelings on this big change and made suggestions on what I could do to lighten my heart.
(And all that time would've cost me around $500 or $600. Some of the bill coming from going to the doctor just for them to tell me it's stress. And some of the bill being the one session of therapy. And some going towards gas driving to these places. Fuck off with that! I'm using free A.I.)
The second time I used it was when I came back to that same chat to ask if me not eating much is connected to stress and when I should start to be worried about not feeling hungry. It said being in shock can make my body not take too much energy and that's why I feel full. But I should sit down and try to eat a meal after day 6. And if I couldn't then to see a doctor.
And luckily, on day 5, I started eating normal meals.
I didn't have a conversation with it that second time. So, I guess I mainly used it as a doctor instead of a therapist but using it like that SAVED me money. I feel better with the reassurance from Chat GPT that I was just going through stress.
Instead of me NOT using Chat GPT and just living my days in worry with what is wrong with me and hoping it's just stress. That might have made my stress last longer than 5 days and actually make me physically sick for not eating much over a week.
Chat GPT as a doctor/therapist is fine if you were going to live with your fingers crossed anyway. At least you get some sort of help than no help.
47:18 I love this hahaha! How did Steve's girlfriend find this uncomfortable? What a pussy.
Them being upset that Black Mirror is dark, sad and bleak made me roll my eyes. The whole point of Black Mirror is showing the horror of technology. Even the ones that end funny or happy are horror stories.
I don't want Black Mirror to start feeling the need to baby it's audience with more happier stories just because people, like these boys, feel the need to keep watching every season, and complain when the episode doesn't end happy. Don't watch horror if you're not in the mood for dark stories!
(It's annoying when Steve complained about Smile 2, on stream, being too depressing and said people only liked it because it's popular and people don't think for themselves. You can be such a brat, Steve--still love you though.)
Just stick to Star Wars, DC and Marvel if you want the good guys to always win.
I love being a SourceFed fan who never turned into a friend after years of supporting them because I have the freedom to citizens them. To rant about opinions I disagree with, which I wouldn't be able to do if I was in the friend group. I would just have to write it in my journal.
I love being a fan but I'm not a blind fangirl. I'm not a "stan" BUT I don't harass them with my bitchy mood. If they read this blog, that's on them.
Hello to anyone who finds this, I citizens the shit I love without bugging anyone about it.
I stay in my corner. If you don't like it then get out of my corner.
39:19 I worry about my best friend dating. I hope she finds a man who isn't a centrist. I hope she doesn't think that's better than nothing. Find a man who is straight up a feminist!
My songs of the week are by The Marias and Corey Taylor:
1:02:16 I love that passion. It's how I feel for rock and metal music.
Corey Taylor is right, it's a shame that the world doesn't take that genre serious. Lots of talent and touching lyrics being hidden from the world because the world only cares about cheap pop music. (And every subgenre in it.)
Rock and metal can be fun and catchy too but the haters only hear the angry songs when they aren't in the mood for that vibe.
Look around more and you'll find light hearted metal songs.
Mortality & Deli Sandwiches
5:20 I get that. If I ever wrote a song or poem, I would find it fun and exciting posting it but never telling people what every word means. Would be fun seeing their theories.
20:09 I love that bit. This proves that you don't need a guest or a host. Please stay a solo podcast, Brittany.
I fear death and the afterlife too. Brittany explains why perfectly. I do believe in God, not in religion. It's still scary as a believer though.
I AM OFFICIALLY IRISH
I will never take a book recommendation from someone who ONLY reads romances (or if they ONLY read YA). I can not take their recommendation seriously.
Brittany, I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way that those people only read trash.
I love romance and smut too but it's not the only thing I read to where I hate when other books have longer details on a page. I don't let simple romance books ruin reading for me where I hate when books have "too many words" or have long chapters.
People who complain about those things should realize sooner that what they actually love is just romance stories, but not books. They should transfer over to audiobooks on 2x speed or fanfiction. I would say movies too but there's no porn in them so might not be as satisfying as an easy-to-read smut book so... Look around on this link.
Hope that helps!
Brittany ranting about BookTok being cheap:
They're the reason it's hard to find well written romance novels. Those people keep buying junk so companies keep making junk. It's easy money for them.
I can't wait for the day a well throughout, erotic book is written and sold. Instead of me only finding them here and there or only in fanfiction.
It's fine for there to be a lot of shitty fanfictions because that shit is free. Because fanfics are written by people WITH passion so it's easier to find good fanfics than it is finding good romance books.
But BookTok loves those books more than the books that the author put their soul into. Braindead community. (And it's not just women in the community so don't fuckin' go there.)
Just because it's smut doesn't mean it always HAS to be cheesy. Authors should stop falling in line with the other soulless writers in the romance community. Having cheesy moments works when it's self-aware and leads to it being cute or sexy. Just don't bank on cliches and popular tropes carrying the whole story!
That's all I'm asking.
41:29 Ew. That sounds so anime. I hate those characters where they're overpowered but still polite and "girlypop". Fuck off with that.
The people in the Youtube comments, and on Reddit, that are upset with Brittany for shit talking this book need to grow up.
Cry baby in the comments: "I loved that book, I felt like I was being bullied :/ " And that fuckin' comment getting lots of likes is proof that her fans need to get their own lives. Stop getting upset when Brittany doesn't like the same shit as you.
(At least don't get OPENLY upset over her shitting on your favorite book, movie, song, or type of food. Make a blog without sending her the link and rant there. It's fun to not harass people with your frustration! Ya'll should try it. Feels good typing out your feelings without bugging anyone.)
"It's a red flag that Brittany can't understand a good female main character!"
That's what a lot of you sound like. Crazy.
Anyway, I think she would like the Dragon Age books. In he first two novels, the main character is very charming.
Severance, birthdays, and why "WE HAVE TO GO BACK!"
Steve, I love you but I really hate it when you talk about the process of why and how an episode is recorded. Just get into it. Unless the story of the process is funny, it's a waste of time.
6:18 I like that attitude, Owen. I hope I feel that way if Mass Effect gets as big and badly written as Star Wars, because that's the fear I have with talk of it getting a live-action...
I hope I can just be happy there are new fans enjoying the games.
19:22 You just admitted that you DO see and KNOW all the causes but are tired of seeing them. It's annoying when people like you try to play victim just because you got yelled at online.
When you get the "how dare you" messages, just dust yourself off, ignore that person and help out if you can. You can donate in private to a cause. Or share a post with information about one if you can't donate. You don't have to become a fuckin' activist, just pass the mic to someone who is.
videogames > books My favorite form of story telling.
26:39 Animal lovers are annoying when it effects their enjoyment with fictional shit.
I marathoned Severance in two days (I'm typing this on June 29th) and rewatched it slower. I love that show. I agree, it feels like being apart of history. I really hope this show is only 4 seasons long.
But Breaking Bad is 5 seasons and Better Call Saul is 6 seasons; both of those shows are amazing from start to finish. So, Severance staying amazing for 5 seasons can happen but it'll be so stressful getting there with our fingers crossed.
43:37 Come on, Ralph. Don't be like Mike. It's okay to make fun of someone's name even if they are a good person. Don'tforget you're on a comedy podcast. We want you guys to make fun of his name. We are listening to laugh. Plus, him being a nerd makes his name even funnier.
1:07:50 I bet his wife watches everything he loves though!
Steve's Secret Ball of Ice Cream
9:34 No other comedy team can make me laugh as much as these boys.
I love when they talk about their childhood or early adult years. Joe and Steve are only 5-6 years older than me so I relate to a lot of what they talk about. (The 80s bled into the 90s, and 90s into early 2000s.)
In Japan they had cigarette machines too, when I was there in 2007! I seen a group of kids in school uniforms just buying from those machines....so the honor system is kinda bullshit there hahaha
My host sister said what they were doing was wrong but she didn't tell anyone, we just laughed about it.
27:42 I'm glad Elliott feels bad about forgetting because it shows that he cares (not because I want to see him feel bad. I wish Steve wouldn't keep saying "whatever" though.) Steve's brother sounds like a lazy parent. I hope his kids calls him out when they get older and learn about the shitty author of HP, knowing that their dad knew but was too lazy to have a conversation about it.
I'm glad Elliott is watching AND reading Stephen King stories! I've been feeling frustrated with booktubers and booktok creators acting like SK isn't worth the hype. He's a good story teller but that doesn't mean he's perfect and readers like to think hype = perfection. Ugh. Anyway...
I think Elliott should go back and listen to The Shinning audiobook to understand that the father character is a better person in the book than he is in the movie.
48:57 Okay, Bratty-Stee. I liked it without knowing it was Nicolas Cage until I listened to a podcast about it. I loved the atypical, dandere main character. (Kinda like the one in the movie, Nope.) I enjoyed the type of drama the movie had and it told us from the start that it was supernatural with her being half psychic.
Nicolas Cage didn't carry that movie, it's just the thing everyone mainly talks about because they couldn't tell it was him at first. (Or like me, at all.) If the character was the same but another GOOD actor did it, a lot of people would still like that movie.
Joe and Elliott COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING
A internet trend I hate is people ranting or telling a story while putting on makeup. ~They just have no time to sit and talk they HAVE to do the video and try to show off how busy their life is. They gotta go now!! Can't wait--but they also have to say their thing or their forget!!!~ Fuck off.
17:11 I hope you do, Elliott! I've been working out an hour a day. I used to not do weekends but ever since I've made up my mind to visit Phoenix this summer, I've been working out all the days of the week. I want a summer body!
I've been working out for a while because I do want abs and to be hot for my husband but going on a trip where I'll be seeing my friends did motivate me to work out a little more.
24:33 Vcast bits > DB bits I love that they can hold in their laugh longer when adding to jokes than Mike can. Mike laughs after every sentence he says.
I've been listening to audiobooks when I workout or when I'm cleaning the house. I like reading more but I think some books are more fun as audiobooks because you don't really know when it ends. You can't see the last page. The last line. That can be really fun if you're listening to horror or suspense.
And sometimes the voice really helps bring the characters alive.
But--no, Elliott! I'm sad you didn't finish Fairy Tale! ...But also...I think you wouldn't have liked the last part so I'm just glad you got to enjoy the first half because it's perfect for you; a dog lover.
Listen to books while working out so you have another reason to keep exercising; finding out what happens next in the book!
Also, reading on a tablet is good if you can't find good lighting for a physical book. Because I do like physical books more but sometimes I just want to read in bed, in the dark or low lighting.
25:14 I never want this podcast to stop updating. I wish the movie commentary episodes were for this podcast instead of DB.
I think four seasons of Severance is perfect. It's not too long. We can learn all about the cult company and have both Marks become one in season three. The last season can be about taking the cult down and having the other severed characters become one.
I can see Helena softening and agreeing to it. I love how she seems to be obsessed with Mark, outside of just making sure he keeps going to work. She didn't need to fuck him or find him in a restaurant.
I think she was truthful when she told him she didn't like who she was. I think she's jealous of Helly for finding love. Helena is lonely.
So, I think four seasons is perfect to wrap up the whole story without it feeling rushed.
